Common first symptoms of kidney cancer

Hematuria, mass and back pain, but these three symptoms usually only appear at the same time in advanced disease. Therefore, for patients over 40 years old, any of the above symptoms should be taken seriously, especially painless macroscopic hematuria is often the first symptom of kidney cancer, and the possibility of kidney cancer should be considered and ruled out first.

1. Painless hematuria Intermittent hematuria is a major feature of renal cancer. Painlessness means that in the early stage of the tumor, there is no pain except hematuria; intermittent means that hematuria occurs when the tumor bleeds or invades the renal pelvis, and disappears when the bleeding stops. This early symptom of renal tumor is very deceptive. Many patients or their families are careless because they see that the patient has no pain and the condition is sometimes better and sometimes worse, and then they regret it when it is too late to treat.

2. Tumors : A hard, uneven mass can be felt on the waist or abdomen. This indicates that the renal cancer has grown in size. Some children aged 1 to 3 may also develop renal embryonic tumors, which are often discovered by their mothers.

3. Pain Patients with kidney cancer often experience dull or dull abdominal pain. Renal colic only occurs when renal pelvic tumors cause hydronephrosis or hematuria. Nephroblastoma generally does not cause pain.

4. Systemic poisoning symptoms Some patients first show systemic poisoning symptoms, such as weight loss, anemia, weakness, etc. 10% to 20% of patients have varying degrees of fever, and low-grade fever is common in nephroblastoma.
