Symptoms of upper abdominal discomfort should alert you to the occurrence of gastric cancer

Zhao Si is in his sixties this year. He was a truck driver in his early years. As he often traveled long distances, his diet was always irregular, often going hungry and eating full. When he was short of money in the early days, he couldn't afford to eat, and often had a full meal after returning home. Later, his business gradually improved, and he had a big meal with fish and meat, and would have a big drink after stopping driving.

Due to long-term bad eating habits, he suffered from stomach problems, and often suffered from indigestion or bloating after meals. The symptoms usually got better after taking stomach medicine. Later, as he got older, he stopped traveling long distances and started his own small business. However, due to the bad eating habits he developed in his early years, he still often suffered from indigestion symptoms.

But later, he found that the problem seemed to be more serious than before, because he occasionally felt abdominal pain after meals, and sometimes had symptoms such as nausea and belching, but this did not attract his attention. He just thought that his stomach problem was more serious, so he went to the hospital to get some stomach medicine.

However, he felt better after taking the medicine, but then it relapsed. Recently, the pain has been more persistent and not relieved, especially after eating. He went to the hospital for a check-up because he couldn't stand it anymore. After questioning and examination, the doctor diagnosed Mr. Zhao with advanced gastric cancer.

In the early stages of gastric cancer, there are no symptoms or only symptoms similar to indigestion, such as upper abdominal noise, dull pain, slight fullness, pain, nausea, belching, etc. In the late stages of gastric cancer, abdominal symptoms may manifest as persistent pain, which may be bloating, sharp pain, stabbing pain, etc., and often worsen after eating.
