Why does the tongue rot? What causes tongue rot?

Sore tongue is a common saying in life. It is actually tongue ulcer, also called oral ulcer. It usually manifests as redness, swelling and ulceration of the mucous membrane in the mouth or on the tongue, covered with a layer of white film with clear boundaries. The disease has a long course and can heal on its own. If this disease often recurs, it means that your physical condition has deteriorated in recent times, causing damage to your immune function.

Tongue rot is usually caused by tongue mucosal ulcers, glossitis, oral fungal infection, etc., which can be caused by the following reasons:

1. Negative physical and mental conditions such as mental stress, emotional instability, poor sleep, excessive fatigue, and autonomic nervous system imbalance.

2. Endocrine changes. Therefore, some women will experience oral ulcers before and after menstruation.

3. Digestive system diseases such as abdominal distension, diarrhea, and constipation, as well as other chronic diseases such as diabetes, blood diseases, tuberculosis, etc., lead to low immunity, physical fatigue or lack of energy, and oral ulcers.

4. Poor oral hygiene, or "hardware" problems such as bites, burns, etc.

5. Malnutrition, lack of trace elements zinc, iron, vitamins, folic acid, anemia, etc. can easily cause recurrent oral ulcers.

Diet therapy for tongue ulcer

1. The tongue is often sore because of lack of vitamins, so you must eat more vegetables and fruits.

2. Be careful to avoid spicy and irritating foods, and avoid smoking, drinking, coffee, etc. Eat a light diet and eat less sweet, greasy, and difficult-to-digest food to avoid generating internal heat.

3. Be sure to drink plenty of water to avoid dry mouth. Eat less hard food to avoid irritation of mouth ulcers.

4. I personally prepare vitamin C effervescent tablets, and foods that clear heat and reduce fire, such as sugarcane juice, bitter gourd, loofah, and amaranth (pregnant women should not eat purslane), for diet therapy, and I find the effect is very good. In addition, fruits and vegetables such as oranges, apples (rich in vitamin C), carrots, white radishes, cabbage, spinach (rich in vitamin B and riboflavin), millet, kelp, pine nuts, walnuts (rich in iron) and appropriate intake of sweets can assist in treatment. However, do not eat too much of some hot fruits such as lychee, orange, pineapple, longan, pomegranate, etc.
