How to check for anaplastic thyroid cancer

Undifferentiated thyroid cancer is a type of malignant tumor, which can be diagnosed through physical examination, laboratory examination, imaging examination, etc. If it is confirmed to be anaplastic thyroid cancer, you need to go to the hospital in time and control the disease through surgical treatment, radioactive iodine-131 treatment, etc. under the guidance of the doctor.

1. Physical Examination

For patients with anaplastic thyroid cancer, there is usually a lump in the neck, accompanied by hoarseness. At this time, you can touch the patient's neck with your hand to preliminarily determine whether there is any abnormality.

2. Laboratory Examination

1. Routine blood test: Since anaplastic thyroid cancer can cause changes in hormone levels in the body, patients may experience a decrease in white blood cell count when doing a routine blood test.

2. CT examination: CT examination is an imaging examination method, which mainly uses X-rays to scan a part of the body, and then transmits the scan results to a computer to obtain image information. After patients with anaplastic thyroid cancer undergo this examination, they will generally find nodular lesions in the thyroid gland.

3. Imaging examination

1. Ultrasound examination: Ultrasound examination uses ultrasound to scan the human body's tissues and organs in sections to understand the specific conditions inside the thyroid gland. For patients with anaplastic thyroid cancer, B-ultrasound usually shows an increase in the size of the thyroid gland and low echoes.

2. MRI examination: MRI examination generally uses magnetic field and radio frequency pulse to generate induction field, so as to make the hydrogen nuclei in the human body spin and move, and then process into images through computer. After patients with anaplastic thyroid cancer undergo this examination, they will usually find multiple nodules in the thyroid gland, and the boundaries will also be unclear.

Patients are advised to maintain good living habits in their daily lives, avoid staying up late, and get enough sleep. At the same time, they should also pay attention to healthy diet, eat more nutrient-rich foods, and eat less spicy, irritating, and greasy foods. If obvious discomfort symptoms occur during the period, they need to seek medical treatment in time to avoid delaying the condition.
