What are the auxiliary examination methods for cervical cancer

Cervical cancer is very harmful and can even kill female patients. Since there are no obvious symptoms in the early stages of cervical cancer, it is usually diagnosed in patients with mid- to late-stage cervical cancer. Although mid- to late-stage cervical cancer is difficult to cure, as long as the correct examination and diagnosis are carried out and the cause is treated, good treatment results can still be achieved. So, what are the auxiliary examination methods for cervical cancer?

1. Colposcopy:

This is one of the auxiliary examination methods for cervical cancer. Generally, it cannot directly diagnose cervical cancer, but it can help select the biopsy site for cervical biopsy. According to statistics, if the biopsy can be taken with the assistance of colposcopy, the diagnostic accuracy rate of early cervical cancer can reach about 98%.

2. Fluorescence examination:

Fluorescence examination can be used to diagnose cervical cancer patients. The mechanism that cancerous tissue and normal tissue absorb different amounts of fluorescein and display different colors is used to diagnose whether there is cancer. Cancerous tissue absorbs more fluorescein, and the fluorescence produced is stronger than that of normal tissue and appears dark yellow, while normal tissue appears purple-blue.

3. Tumor biochemical diagnosis:

Tumor biochemical diagnosis is an auxiliary examination method for cervical cancer. Clinical studies have found that lactate dehydrogenase and hexokinase are significantly increased in patients with cervical cancer, especially in those with infiltration, which is helpful for clinical diagnosis.

4. Biopsy of cervix and endocervical canal:

These two examinations conducted clinically are important parts of diagnosis, but biopsy is the most reliable basis for diagnosing cervical cancer.
