4 types of people who are susceptible to pancreatic cancer

Pancreatic cancer is often referred to as one of the most serious "rich diseases" because it is related to eating habits and metabolic diseases, such as diabetes and obesity. Therefore, pancreatic cancer also has a high incidence rate and can be mainly divided into the following four categories:

Gastrointestinal surgery

According to research, patients who have had their gallbladder removed for more than 20 years have a 70% increased risk of pancreatic cancer. Patients who have undergone gastric ulcer surgery also have a higher risk of pancreatic cancer, especially those who have had surgery for more than 20 years.

Patients with sudden onset diabetes

Patients with sudden onset of diabetes, especially atypical diabetes, who are over 60 years old, have no family history and are not obese, quickly develop insulin resistance. 40% of pancreatic cancer patients have diabetes when they are diagnosed.

Obese drinkers

Obese people generally like to eat high-fat, high-cholesterol foods. These foods cause a large amount of oil to enter the blood circulation, affecting the microcirculation of the pancreas itself, causing digestive enzymes to be activated prematurely inside the pancreas. It also causes the pancreas to continuously produce digestive enzymes, presenting a high-load state, increasing the chances of pancreatic cell division errors and cancer, which can develop into pancreatic tumors in the long run. Alcohol can interfere with fat metabolism and promote lesions.

Smokers

Investigations and studies have found that frequent smoking not only induces respiratory diseases such as lung cancer, but also increases the incidence of acute and chronic pancreatitis, and can also be a cause of pancreatic cancer.
