Xiaoli was diagnosed with cervical cancer during a physical examination at work. The doctor recommended that she go to the hospital's obstetrics and gynecology department for further examination. After a series of examinations, the doctor diagnosed her with "stage IIA cervical cancer". What is stage IIA cervical cancer? Is it a late stage cancer? In fact, there are many ways to classify cervical cancer in medicine. Clinically, doctors divide cervical cancer into three stages, namely early, middle and late stages. The stage between the middle and late stages is also called the middle and late stages. The clinical symptoms of early cervical cancer are the mildest. During this period, the cancer cells are confined to the cervix and have not spread to the surrounding tissues, nor have they been transferred to other parts of the body with lymph or blood. Patients often have no special symptoms. In contrast, the clinical symptoms of late cervical cancer are the most severe. Cancer cells not only grow in the cervix, but also spread to the pelvic cavity where the uterus is located, invading the vagina, bladder, ureters, rectum and other tissues, and are transferred to other tissues and organs with lymph and blood, causing various symptoms. According to the specific range of cervical cancer spread, cervical cancer can also be divided into four stages: I, II, III, and IV. In stage I, the cancer cells are the smallest and confined to the cervix. In stage IV, the spread is the largest, and often multiple tissues and organs have been involved. Stage I is basically equivalent to the early stage clinically, while stage IV is equivalent to the late stage. In stage IIA, the range of cervical cancer has exceeded the cervix, but has not reached the pelvic wall, and the invasion of the vagina is limited to the upper third. Therefore, stage IIA cervical cancer is equivalent to mid-stage cancer. Because the range of the cervical cancer lesions in this stage is relatively small, the entire lesion can be surgically removed, and then assisted with other treatment methods, the prognosis is still very optimistic. |
