There are three ways to measure body temperature, namely oral, axillary and anal. People usually choose axillary when measuring temperature, because this part is more convenient, and the temperature of these three parts is different at different time periods. In the morning, our body temperature may be the lowest and the highest at night, so how many minutes does it take to measure the temperature of the anus? There are three ways to measure body temperature: placing the thermometer under the tongue for measurement, called the intraoral method; placing the thermometer in the armpit for measurement, called the axillary method; and inserting the thermometer into the anus for measurement, called the rectal method. Therefore, there are three types of thermometers, namely oral, axillary and rectal. Domestic temperature measurement is generally expressed in Celsius (C). What is the normal oral temperature? 36.2-37.2'C. The rectal temperature is about 0.50C higher than the oral temperature. What is the normal armpit temperature? It is about 0.4℃ lower than the oral temperature. The normal body temperature of a person differs within 1°C during the day and night, and is generally slightly higher in the afternoon than in the morning, and slightly higher during the day than at night. How many minutes does it take to take your temperature? 1. Underarm measurement method. Before measuring the temperature, wipe the armpits dry with a dry towel, then place the mercury end of the thermometer deep in the armpit without exposing it. Parents should hold the thermometer with their hands, let the child bend his arms over the chest, clamp it tightly (infants and young children need to hold them tightly), measure the temperature for 7-10 minutes and then take it out. It is necessary to wait 30 minutes after bathing before measuring, and be careful not to get any underwear or sheets between the thermometer and the skin of the armpit to ensure its accuracy. The normal axillary temperature is generally an average of 36-37 degrees Celsius. 2. Intraanal measurement method. When measuring inside the anus, use a rectal thermometer. First, lubricate the mercury end of the thermometer with liquid paraffin or grease (soapy water can also be used), then slowly insert the mercury end of the thermometer into the anus 3-4.5 cm (1.5 cm is enough for infants). Parents should pinch the upper end of the thermometer with their hands to prevent it from slipping or breaking. Take it out after 3-5 minutes, wipe the thermometer with gauze or soft toilet paper, and read the degree. The normal range of rectal body temperature is generally 36.8-37.8 degrees Celsius. 3. Intraoral measurement. The method is to place the mercury tip of the oral surface obliquely under the child's tongue, ask the child to close his mouth (do not bite with teeth), breathe through the nose, take it out after 3 minutes, wipe it clean and read the degree. The normal oral temperature of an adult is between 36 and 37 degrees Celsius, while that of a child can be as high as 0. |
