Experts explain the main methods of cervical cancer examination

In order to better determine the severity of cervical cancer and the spread of cancer cells, you must go to the hospital for cervical cancer examination in time, which will help doctors to treat cervical cancer more scientifically. What are the main examination methods for cervical cancer ? Let's ask experts to talk about the main examination methods for cervical cancer.

In general, the main methods of cervical cancer screening are:

Iodine test: Normal cervical and vaginal squamous epithelium contains abundant glycogen, which can be stained brown by iodine solution, while cervical erosion and abnormal squamous epithelial areas (including atypical hyperplasia, carcinoma in situ and invasive carcinoma) have no glycogen and will not be stained. This is the main method for cervical cancer examination.

Biopsy of cervix and endocervical canal: For patients with grade III to IV cervical smear cytology but negative cervical biopsy, multiple tissues should be taken for pathological examination in order to check for cervical cancer.

Cervical smear cytology examination: This method of cervical cancer examination can detect cervical precancerous lesions and early cervical cancer. Because there is a false negative rate of 5%-10%, patients should undergo regular examinations.

Colposcopy: Colposcopy cannot directly confirm whether a person has cancer, but it can assist in the biopsy of cervical cancer. According to statistics, the diagnosis rate of early cervical cancer is as high as 98% when biopsies are taken with the help of colposcopy.

Cervical cone excision: When biopsy cannot confirm the presence of invasive cancer, cervical cone excision can be performed. After cervical cancer is confirmed, lymph node angiography, cystoscopy, and colonoscopy can also be performed according to the specific situation.

The above is an introduction to the main methods of cervical cancer examination, I hope it will be helpful to everyone. If you are diagnosed with cervical cancer, you must go to the hospital for treatment immediately to avoid seriously delaying the disease and causing greater harm to the patient.
