Analysis of common ovarian cancer treatment methods

Choosing the right method to treat ovarian cancer is very important for patients, which can help patients better control the disease and reduce damage. What are the common methods to treat ovarian cancer ? Here are some common methods to treat ovarian cancer.

In general, common treatments for ovarian cancer include:

1. Surgery

The scope of surgical treatment for ovarian cancer depends on the stage of the tumor, and often requires the removal of the ovaries, uterus and fallopian tubes at the same time. Only in very rare cases, such as young patients with early-stage tumors who are eager to preserve reproductive function, can more conservative surgery be performed within the permitted scope to treat ovarian cancer, but it must be done with caution.

2. Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy for ovarian cancer is usually administered intravenously, once every three to four weeks, for a total of six months to one year. Currently, the most recommended chemotherapy method for ovarian cancer worldwide is to use a combination of drugs, which is more effective than a single drug. These drugs mainly work to treat ovarian cancer by destroying the proliferation ability of cancer cells.

3. Radiation therapy

Radiation therapy is an adjuvant therapy for ovarian cancer and is rarely used. When radiation therapy is used to treat ovarian cancer, X-rays are directed to the abdomen or radioactive materials are placed at the tumor site. The skin in the treated area often develops sub-burn-like changes due to radiation exposure, which gradually disappear after the ovarian cancer treatment is stopped.

The above is an introduction to the common methods of treating ovarian cancer. I believe everyone has some understanding of this. Patients should choose the method of treating ovarian cancer that suits them according to their actual condition and should not choose blindly.
