What complications can cervical cancer easily lead to

Common complications after cervical cancer surgery include:

1. Urinary retention: Urinary retention is the most common complication after radical hysterectomy for cervical cancer. The diagnostic criteria are still unable to urinate on their own for more than 14 days after surgery or urinating on their own but with residual urine volume > 100 ml.

2. Bleeding: Bleeding after cervical cancer surgery often occurs within one week after surgery, which is often caused by incomplete hemostasis during surgery and secondary infection.

3. Lymphocele: Lymphocele mainly occurs after extensive total hysterectomy and pelvic lymph node cleaning, and is caused by poor lymphatic drainage. Lymphocele patients mainly present with lower abdominal discomfort, and may also experience ipsilateral lower limb edema and waist and leg pain.

4. Venous thrombosis: Venous thrombosis after cervical cancer surgery is more common than lower limb venous thrombosis. Its causes are closely related to long operation time, long lower limb vein occlusion time, intraoperative venous wall trauma, and accelerated coagulation mechanism.

5. Ureterovaginal fistula and vesicovaginal fistula: Ureterovaginal fistula and vesicovaginal fistula often occur 7-14 days after surgery. Some blue liquid is injected into the bladder for identification.

6. Postoperative abdominal infection and urinary tract infection.
