Discuss the clinical symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma

In recent years, nasopharyngeal carcinoma has become one of the major diseases that endangers society and human health, and it has brought great pain and distress to humans. In order to reduce the incidence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, we humans should master the following dietary habits during radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma:

(1) Nasal bleeding Blood in the nasal discharge is often a sign of nasopharyngeal cancer.

(2) Unilateral nasal congestion. This is usually not obvious in the early stages, but becomes progressively worse as the tumor grows. It is different from a cold in that it manifests as unilateral nasal congestion and is not responsive to anti-cold treatments.

(3) Symptoms in one ear. As the tumor tissue grows larger and invades the Eustachian tube, it can cause otitis media, ear pain, tinnitus, and hearing loss. If the pharyngeal opening of the Eustachian tube is compressed, the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the tympanic cavity increases, which can aggravate the tinnitus symptoms.

(4) Migraine. This occurs in about one-third of patients. The headache is severe and fixed in location, and is ineffective with analgesics. The headache is caused by cancer tissue invading or compressing cranial nerves.

(5) Unilateral facial deviation: Nasopharyngeal carcinoma may invade the cranial nerves and may also cause facial deviation, decreased vision in the affected eye, or diplopia. These symptoms are sometimes the main complaints of some patients at the initial diagnosis.

(6) According to statistics, about 80% of patients have lymph node metastasis behind the clavicle and below the earlobe. The lump grows rapidly and may be asymptomatic. It is movable at first, but then adhesion occurs within a short period of time and it becomes fixed.

(7) Nasopharyngeal carcinoma may also metastasize to distant parts of the body, such as the liver, lungs, and bones, thereby causing symptoms in the corresponding parts of the body.

The above is the diet during radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Expert Tips: If you have symptoms of illness, do not delay diagnosis and go to a regular hospital for treatment in time to avoid delaying the disease and causing serious consequences.
