Can I wear braces on porcelain teeth

When treating teeth, we often hear about porcelain teeth. After having porcelain teeth, we no longer need to wear braces because porcelain teeth themselves are a kind of braces. When having porcelain teeth, we must understand some indications. For example, tooth defects and abnormal tooth conditions can be treated with porcelain teeth. Not everyone is suitable for porcelain teeth, so we should pay attention to this aspect.

Can I wear braces on porcelain teeth?

Ceramic teeth are a kind of braces in themselves, which are used to protect teeth, so there is no need to make another brace on the outside. The bone quality of the porcelain teeth cannot change with traction, so the porcelain teeth may be too prominent.

Four types of people are suitable for porcelain tooth restoration

1. For missing teeth, the individual requirement is that the number of missing teeth is small (12 teeth) and the adjacent teeth are healthy and free of inflammation. Poor tooth color or shape.

2. Patients with abnormal dentition morphology, such as large gaps between teeth, uneven, misaligned, or altered teeth, who are not suitable for orthodontic treatment.

3. For teeth broken due to trauma, or even residual roots, if the roots are long enough and the periodontal condition is good, after perfect root canal treatment, the metal crown core is inserted into the root canal to fix it, and then the porcelain tooth is installed.

4. If you have caries or large tooth defects, after root canal treatment, the teeth will lose blood vessel nutrition supply, causing the teeth to change color to gray or brown-yellow, and the pressure of chewing may cause the teeth to fracture. Porcelain teeth can be used to restore their beauty and increase their strength.

Who is not suitable for porcelain tooth restoration?

1. If other relatively less molar restorative methods can meet the patient's requirements for aesthetics and strength, it is not recommended to use gold-ceramic crown restoration.

2. For those who have extremely high requirements for the aesthetics of their front teeth, avoid using metal porcelain crowns that may cause gray lines on the neck, such as nickel-chromium alloy porcelain crowns.

3. People who are allergic to metals should not use non-precious metal porcelain crowns. Precious metal porcelain crowns should be used with caution.

4. It is contraindicated to use on young permanent teeth that have not yet fully developed.
