What is normal blood pressure at the age of 28

No matter which stage of life you are in, you should pay attention to your blood pressure, because blood pressure is very important for human health. If the blood pressure is abnormal, the probability of various cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in the human body will be higher. So, what is the normal blood pressure for a 28-year-old? Let me introduce you to the relevant knowledge below!

1. What is the normal blood pressure range?

The flow of blood in the body depends on the heart and blood pressure. Blood pressure fluctuates with emotions, environment, diet, etc., so regulation is necessary. When you are nervous or exercising, your blood pressure should be raised to facilitate fighting or escape. The normal blood pressure range for most people is: systolic pressure 140--90 mmHg, diastolic pressure 90--60 mmHg.

2. What are the factors that affect normal blood pressure?

1. Cardiac Output

Cardiac output, simply put, is the amount of blood pumped by the heart. It is related to heart rate and stroke volume. Stroke volume refers to the amount of blood pumped out each time the atrium contracts. The more blood pumped, the higher the cardiac output. When the heart rate increases, blood output increases accordingly. Conversely, when the heart rate decreases, blood output decreases accordingly. If the vascular resistance remains unchanged, increasing cardiac output will increase blood pressure, just as when you turn up the water hose, if the diameter of the hose does not change, the water pressure will increase. However, if the vascular resistance changes or decreases, cardiac output will not necessarily change blood pressure.

2. Vascular resistance

When vascular resistance increases, blood pressure increases accordingly. The factors that affect vascular resistance mainly include blood vessel length, blood flow viscosity and blood vessel diameter, among which blood vessel diameter has the most obvious impact on blood pressure. The length of blood vessels is directly proportional to the resistance of blood vessels. When the total length of blood vessels doubles, the resistance of blood vessels also doubles. This explains why obese people are more likely to have high blood pressure. Fat is supplied by blood vessels. When fat accumulates, the length of blood vessels increases, which increases the resistance of blood vessels and thus raises blood pressure.

The viscosity of blood also affects the resistance of blood vessels. When the blood is thin, it is easy to flow and the blood pressure is lower. When the blood is thicker, the blood flows slower and the blood vessel resistance is higher, which will also increase the blood pressure. Fortunately, the difference in blood viscosity is not large and the impact on blood pressure is slight. The greatest influence on peripheral vascular resistance is the diameter of the blood vessels. When the diameter of a blood vessel is reduced by half, the resistance and blood pressure within the blood vessel will increase 16 times. Therefore, whether physiological or pathological changes in blood pressure are mostly caused by changes in blood vessel diameter.

3. Regulation of blood pressure

Blood pressure is very important for maintaining the body's survival, and regulating blood pressure to adapt to the needs of daily life is also extremely important. During exercise, the heart rate needs to speed up so that enough blood can be transported to the tissues. When you relax, your heart doesn't need to beat as much, so your heart rate slows down. Short-term regulation is mainly carried out through nerves and hormones; longer-term regulation is mainly carried out through renin.
