Some people have very good teeth and hardly feel any impact when eating. They can chew even hard bones with a crunching sound without any abnormality. However, some people always feel pain near their ears after eating, so they dare not eat hard food. Pain near the ears is a neurological disease and needs to be treated after finding out the cause. Ear pain is most likely not ear pain but temporomandibular joint pain, that is, tenderness of the articular process in front of the ear. There is a bony protrusion in front of the ear, which moves back and forth as you open your mouth and chew. This is the temporomandibular joint. Due to dental diseases, chewing habits, etc., chewing on one side for a long time will cause temporomandibular joint dysfunction and pain. Many people mistake it for earache. This is why it hurts if you put your hand on your ear and press it. Correct chewing habits, chew on the other side, treat diseased teeth, use painkillers and physical therapy appropriately, and take a small amount of dexamethasone if necessary. Ear pain can be caused by many other reasons besides problems with the ear itself. Airplane ear occurs because the Eustachian tube cannot properly adjust to the changes in atmospheric pressure inside and outside the ear, making the pressure inside and outside equal. This causes a vacuum to form in the ear, which acts on the eardrum and causes pain. It may not be ear pain, but may be caused by dental problems, sinus infection, neuralgia, or upper and lower jaw diseases. Otitis media is the most common cause of ear pain in children. Adults may also be infected when they have a severe cold. Treatment for swimmer's ear: Raising your head as high as possible and leaning your head sideways will make ear pain worse. Apply hot compress with a wrung-out hot towel over the ear, once every two hours for 10 to 15 minutes each time. Add a few drops of oil. Warm mineral oil or baby oil until lukewarm and use an ear dropper to slowly drip the oil into the ear canal. However, if you see or feel fluid coming out of your ear, do not put the drops of oil in. It is actually a good thing if something flows out. When the eardrum is injured, pus will flow out, which serves as a warning. If you understand the source of the pain, you can deal with it and recover quickly. Try eating one or two cloves of garlic a day. |
