Squinting can improve vision to a certain extent through the pinhole effect and slit effect in physics. Therefore, patients with astigmatism often squint when looking far away. Wearing glasses can correct this bad habit. It should be noted that squinting is not an inherent manifestation of astigmatism, it can also occur in myopic patients. How to avoid worsening astigmatism 1. Avoid long-term continuous computer operation. Nowadays, many people need to use computers for a long time. Sometimes they use computers to get off work overtime or play games after work. So in life we should pay attention to keeping our eyes rested and avoid irritation to the eyes caused by long-term use of computers. It is best not to use computers after get off work. There should be sufficient light when reading, preferably from the left rear; the reading posture should be correct and the distance should be maintained between 30-40 cm to prevent astigmatism. 2. Adjust the screen spacing position. The recommended distance is 50-70 cm, and the screen should be slightly lower than the eye level by 10-20 cm, with a downward viewing angle of 15-20 degrees. Because the viewpoint and distance can reduce the need for refraction and reduce the chance of eye fatigue. 3. Supplement the nutrients needed by the eyes. In particular, eat more fruits and vegetables, which can protect your eyesight. 4. Don’t use the air conditioner for too long. Prevent air flow from blowing over the seats and place tea near the seats to increase the surrounding humidity. 5. Remember to drink plenty of water.
