First, what are the additives in tea? Due to the special processing technology of some teas, the fragrance of the tea is not strong when it is dried. If you hold a handful of tea and put it under your nose to smell it, the fragrance is subtle and natural, then generally there is no additive: on the contrary, if the fragrance of the dry tea is strong and the fragrance lingers in the nose for a long time, then it is very likely that essence has been added. You can rub the tea leaves with your hands. If some powder or color adheres to your palms, it means that some additives have been added. After brewing with 80-degree water, if the tea soup is turbid or has a strong aroma, it basically means that essence has been added. Because Tieguanyin must be brewed with water above 95 degrees to bring out its aroma and taste, and most of the flavors will quickly dissolve and release their fragrance at a water temperature of 80 degrees.

Second, after brewing, if the aroma of each cup of tea decreases quickly and lacks changes, or even disappears after the third cup, it is possible that essence has been added. After drinking the tea, don't wash the cup first. After leaving it overnight, you will find a thick layer of tea stains in the cup the next morning. If the color of the tea stains is light yellow, dark yellow, orange or other yellow-orange colors, it means that the tea does not contain any additives. On the contrary, if the tea stains are light green, dark green, dark green or other colors, it means that the tea may contain additives.

What are the additives in tea? The main ingredients of chemical flavors are petrochemical products. Use a simple test method to put the tea leaves that you think are problematic into a commercially available plastic bag or a sealed plastic ziplock bag, and then put it into a sealed jar. After an hour, open the jar and smell it. At this time, the smell of the tea leaves with chemical flavors begins to come out of the sealed plastic bag, and the smell coming out of the jar at this time makes people feel nauseous.
