Cleaning stainless steel pots with baking soda

Cleaning stainless steel pots with baking soda

Stainless steel tableware has a smooth and beautiful appearance, and it looks quite high-end, making it the first choice of tableware for many people. Many people use stainless steel pots at home. Although this type of pot is easy to use, it is indeed a hassle to clean. If you use a steel brush, the pot will appear clean, but its glossiness will be affected to a certain extent. You can try scrubbing it with a rag, baking soda and a little hot water. This will not damage the pot and will still achieve the cleaning effect.

1. How to clean stainless steel cookware with baking soda

Baking soda solution is weakly alkaline. Its particles are soft crystals with a hardness similar to that of human nails or gold. When moistened with water, the edges and corners of the crystals can be dissolved. Therefore, if used as an abrasive, it can not only remove dirt from the surface of utensils, but also will not cause damage to the pots and pans. It is much milder than toothpaste and salt. Do not use a steel brush to scrub it. It is also not recommended to use large crystals such as scouring powder and salt as the friction is relatively large, especially for highly polished stainless steel cookware. After wiping it once, you will find that the pot is clean, but the polished surface is no longer shiny. It is best not to wash with cold water immediately after each use, as this will produce water mist and make the pot difficult to clean. You can use warm water to wash it. Just wipe the surface with a sponge cloth to prevent scratches on the surface of the pot. Do not use strong alkaline or strong oxidizing chemicals such as bleaching powder for cleaning.

2. Other methods for cleaning stainless steel pots

1. The most common method is to soak it in hot water and wash it with detergent. If the stains are serious, use a small wire ball or a brush to scrub them. If the stains are minor, use a scouring pad or ordinary rag to clean the stains.

2. If the dirt on the surface of stainless steel is only a layer on the surface, you can use toothpaste to scrub it. Try to brush out a white sheen.

3. You can also use lemon to scrub the surface of stainless steel pots. Just put acidic food into the pot and boil water to react and remove the dirt. What is used is fruit acid.

3. Some people also use incense ash to scrub dirt. I think it is better to use incense ash, because the pot is at least used for cooking.

4. As everyone said, boil pears in water. I heard the effect is also good. You can try it. You must have some stored pears.

5. Put a few slices of apple in the pot and add water, then put it on the fire for a while, and the black spots will be removed immediately.

6. Use incense ash (mosquito coils or sandalwood) to first dip the bottom of the pot in a little water, then sprinkle the dry incense ash evenly on the bottom of the pot, and then rub it slowly with a steel wool. The effect is very good.

7. You can also use burned and wet charcoal to scrub, the effect is also very good.
