How to use baby diapers

How to use baby diapers

Many new parents don’t know how to use baby diapers after their babies are born. They are easy to fall off after being used on the babies and often spill outside. Some parents will stuff the baby’s legs with diapers, which makes the baby uncomfortable and the parents become very anxious. You must master the usage skills of baby diapers and use the right method to ensure that they will not fall off. You must be careful when wearing them and never let the edge of the cloth scratch the baby.

How to use diapers without them falling off

Use of diapers

If you like old-style diapers, when you put them on your child, you should make them thicker in the areas that are most likely to get wet, instead of stuffing them full between the child's legs and spreading the legs too far apart.

Generally, when using triangular diapers, first place the diaper under the newborn's body with the bottom edge of the diaper on the newborn's waist. Then, bring one corner of the diaper from between the newborn's legs up to the navel, then bring the two corners on both sides over from both sides of the body, and finally use a pin to pin the three corners of the diaper together. When using triangular diapers, urine and feces are not easy to flow out, but using pins to pin the diaper is dangerous. If it slips off and opens, it will injure the newborn.

When using a rectangular diaper, first put the diaper between the newborn's legs and insert it into an elastic band around the newborn's waist to secure the diaper, but this practice is not advisable. Because the elastic band at the waist is tied around the waist for a long time, and is pulled up and down when changing diapers, or when the newborn twists, especially when the elastic band is wetted by urine or feces and is not replaced in time, such elastic band will rub back and forth between the waist and groin, sometimes causing the skin there to be scratched. In severe cases, a deep wound will be formed, which is prone to infection.

It is best to use both rectangular diapers and triangular diapers at the same time. First, place the rectangular diaper on top of the triangular diaper, then fold the rectangular diaper and one corner of the triangular diaper upwards to the newborn's abdomen, and finally bring the triangular diaper over and tie a knot on the newborn's abdomen to secure the diaper. The triangular diapers used at this time can be thinner, with only two layers needed.

Most parents change their baby's diaper before picking him up for a feed and again before putting him back to bed. Some busy parents only change their baby's diaper after feeding. This saves time and does not require washing so many diapers, because babies often defecate while feeding. Most babies don't mind being wet. But some babies are particularly sensitive to moisture, so they need to change their diapers frequently. If you cover your child with enough, the diaper won't feel cold even when it's wet. The wet diaper will only cool down when the heat evaporates while it is exposed to the outside.

If your baby always wets his diaper and soaks the bed, you need to use two diapers or add a plastic pad. If you put the second diaper on your child like you did the first, it will be too thick. So, you can tie it around your child's waist like an apron and then pin it in place. You can also fold the second piece into a long strip and place it in the center of the first piece.
