Space cotton pillow

Element

Space cotton is composed of five layers. The base layer is polyester stretch fleece, and the metal film surface layer is composed of four parts: non-woven fabric, polyethylene plastic film, aluminum-titanium alloy reflective layer and surface layer (protective layer). The metal film surface layer and the flake base layer are compounded together by needle punching. It uses the principle of human body heat radiation and reflection to achieve thermal insulation and has good thermal insulation performance.

Taking clothing to keep warm as an example, in the past people have always used methods such as reducing convection and lowering thermal conductivity to improve the thermal insulation effect, so they often increase the weight and thickness of the wadding, but 30% to 40% of the heat dissipated by the human body is radiated. Space cotton uses the reflective effect of the metal coating to reflect the heat emitted by the human body back to the human body, thereby producing a highly efficient warming effect. The sweat emitted by the human body can be discharged through the micropores of the metal layer and the pores of the non-woven fabric, so that people will not feel stuffy. When in use, just face the shiny metal side towards the hot object to achieve a satisfactory effect. Compared with cotton, with the same thermal insulation effect, the use of space cotton can reduce the weight to less than a quarter.

The non-woven fabric used in space cotton is manufactured by bonding or needle punching. Its width and weight (grams) per square meter are required to be consistent with those of space cotton products. The surface of the fabric is required to be uniform. The fibers used in non-woven fabrics are generally polyester staple fibers. No special processing is required, but there are certain requirements for the length and fineness of the fibers. The plastic film used for space cotton is generally polyethylene plastic film. In addition to certain requirements on thickness and width, it also has higher requirements on its intrinsic qualities such as elongation, uniformity, and aging resistance. Aluminum-titanium alloy is sprayed onto plastic film using high-pressure vacuum. Therefore, there are certain requirements on the purity, ratio and quality of aluminum and titanium metals. After the aluminum-titanium alloy is sprayed onto the plastic film, an anti-aging agent should generally be sprayed to prevent the aluminum-titanium alloy from being oxidized and to maintain the metallic luster all year round. An anti-aging agent with stable performance and good effect must be selected. In order to maintain the softness of space cotton, the coating of aluminum-titanium alloy must be treated to make it soft, which is not only conducive to wearing comfort, but also conducive to protecting the aluminum-titanium alloy coating and extending its service life.

Space cotton clothing

If used for clothing, it has many advantages such as "light, thin, soft, stiff, beautiful and strong". It can be directly processed without finishing and quilting, and can be washed directly. It is an ideal product for keeping warm in winter, and also a rare product for heat resistance and radiation protection. The finished garments can be washed in a washing machine at standard speed for 25 minutes and then spun dry in a spin-dryer, and will not be deformed or damaged even after dozens of washes. As far as current usage is concerned, space cotton can be used to make various types of clothing (including jackets, ski suits, cotton-padded clothes, cotton-padded pants, tight vests, windbreakers, overcoats, children's clothing, sleeping bags, etc.) and special occupational clothing (such as steelmaking, coal mining, oil fields, geological exploration, cold storage, transportation, post and telecommunications, as well as police and military work clothes). It can also be used to make shoes, hats, bedding, tents, door curtains, etc. According to tests by relevant departments, when the human body is at low temperatures of -15°C to 20°C, except for exposed parts, the parts insulated by space cotton do not feel cold. A group of people with a youngest age of 25 and an oldest age of 60 were organized to wear the cotton twice in a cold storage at -18°C. The people did not feel cold when lying, reclining or standing for an hour, but felt frozen pain in their toes when wearing leather cotton shoes. In addition, tests by the health department showed that space cotton has no irritation or allergic reaction to the human body and is safe for human use.
