Banana roots are moldy

Banana roots are moldy

Banana is a very common tropical fruit in our lives. It has high nutritional value and good taste, and is loved by many people. Because bananas are tropical fruits, their preservation requires great skill. Once one banana is ripe, the entire bunch of bananas will ripen and will go bad very quickly. If the banana roots are moldy, you should pay attention. It is okay to eat if only the roots are moldy, but be careful if the inside is moldy.

Once bananas become moldy, they will easily produce mold and harmful substances and are not suitable for consumption, otherwise they will easily cause physical discomfort.

Anything moldy should not be eaten, because there may be a lot of mold growing, which will cause certain harm to the human body if eaten. In mild cases, it may cause diarrhea, and in severe cases, it may cause other infectious diseases. However, if the skin of a banana is black and the inside is not rotten, it can be eaten, because this shows that the banana is ripe and will play a certain role in aiding digestion.

How to choose bananas

1. Observe the color . If the skin is bright yellow with green at both ends, it is a moderately mature fruit; if the skin is completely green, it is an overripe fruit; if the skin turns black, it is an overripe fruit. Bananas with bright yellow color and no spots on the skin are not yet completely ripe inside. You should choose bananas with yellow-black and reddish color and slight black spots. It is best to choose bananas with black sesame spots on the skin (commonly known as Guangdong sesame bananas) and wrinkled skin.

2. Use two fingers to gently pinch the fruit body. If it is elastic, it is moderately mature; if the flesh is hard, it is overripe; if it is easy to peel off, it is overripe; if the skin is sticky with flesh, it is overripe. A banana that feels soft and ripe when squeezed will taste sweet, and the flesh will be light yellow, low in fiber, tender in texture, and have the scent of osmanthus.

3. The fruits that are soft, sticky and smooth in the mouth, with sweetness and fragrance are moderately ripe fruits; the fruits that are hard and lack sweetness and fragrance are over-ripe fruits; the fruits that still have astringent taste are half-ripe fruits, and the fruits that are soft and rotten are over-ripe fruits.
