Sleeping posture can reflect a person's personality. Different postures reflect different people's attitude towards life. For example, sleeping on your side is more like the position of a fetus in the mother's belly, which makes you feel safer, so many people like to sleep on their side. Although sleeping on your back is also popular among many people, it can easily cause nightmares, and experts do not recommend this posture. So, how can we judge a person’s personality from his sleeping position? 1. Supine Sleeping on your back is the most common sleeping position. Traditional Chinese medicine calls this sleeping position "corpse sleeping". With this sleeping position, the body and lower limbs can only be fixed in a straight position, which cannot achieve the purpose of full body rest. When the intra-abdominal pressure increases, lying on your back can easily cause people to feel chest tightness and suffocation. Lying on your back like this will cause you to consciously or unconsciously place your hands on your chest, which will put pressure on your heart and lungs and make you prone to nightmares. 2. Prone When lying prone, most of the body weight is pressed on the ribs and abdomen, which puts pressure on the chest and diaphragm, affects breathing, and increases the burden on the heart. Sleeping prone also increases the curvature of the lumbar spine, causing compression of the facet joints at the back of the spine. When lying prone, the neck has to be twisted sideways to tilt the head to one side, which can easily cause damage to the neck muscles. 3. Lying on your left side When lying on your left side with your legs slightly bent, although it helps to relax your body and eliminate fatigue, the heart is located between the left and right lungs in the chest cavity and is biased to the left. The exits of the stomach to the duodenum and the small intestine to the large intestine are all on the left side. Therefore, when lying on your left side, not only the heart is squeezed, but also the gastrointestinal tract is compressed, and gastric emptying is slowed down. 4. Lying on the right side According to traditional Chinese medicine, the correct sleeping position should be lying on your right side with your legs slightly bent. In this way, the heart is in a high position and is not compressed; the liver is in a low position and has a better blood supply, which is beneficial to metabolism; the food in the stomach is pushed towards the duodenum by gravity, which can promote digestion and absorption. At the same time, the whole body is in a relaxed state, breathing becomes even, heartbeat slows down, and the brain, heart, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, muscles, and bones get sufficient rest and oxygen supply. Of course, for a healthy person, there is no need to be overly concerned about his sleeping posture, because overnight, people often cannot maintain a fixed posture until dawn. Most people are constantly changing their sleeping postures, which is more conducive to relieving fatigue. Some people have the habit of exposing their shoulders outside the quilt when they sleep, but they don't know that the weather in winter is very cold and the cold wind can easily invade the shoulder joints of the human body, causing stagnation of qi and blood in local meridians and joints, making it difficult to circulate, causing rheumatism, arthritis, and soreness and pain in the joints. Being attacked by wind and cold can easily cause colds, runny noses, breathing difficulties, dizziness and headaches. |
