Acupuncture points for chest tightness and shortness of breath

Acupuncture points for chest tightness and shortness of breath

There are many acupoints distributed on the human body, and because these acupoints are connected to different nervous systems in the human body, they play different functions. In traditional Chinese medicine, the treatment of certain diseases in the human body is mainly through the massage of acupoints. Therefore, some patients with chest tightness and shortness of breath want to treat this physiological phenomenon through the massage of acupoints. So what are the acupoints for chest tightness and shortness of breath?

1. The efficacy of Tanzhong acupoint

When we are angry, we sometimes beat and massage our chest involuntarily. If we observe carefully, the place that is being beaten and kneaded is the Tanzhong point. By beating and massaging the Tanzhong point, you can regulate the function of the upper burner and unblocking the Qi flow, allowing the blocked Qi in the heart and chest to flow smoothly and relieve the feeling of stuffiness.

It is mentioned in the "Yellow Emperor's Internal Classic": "Tanzhong is the official of the minister, and joy comes from it." This means that Tanzhong point is the official of the pericardium meridian. When you feel chest tightness and depression, massaging this point can dispel the depression in your heart and make you feel happy.

The Danzhong point is located at the midpoint of the line connecting the two nipples. It is the place where the pericardium meridian qi gathers and the place where the body's vital energy converges. Therefore, it has the function of regulating qi and opening the chest, and descending qi and unblocking the meridians. It is an important acupoint for treating cardiopulmonary diseases such as palpitations, shortness of breath, chest tightness, chest pain, cough and asthma. You can rub the point up and down with the base of your palm until you feel the heat coming through; then press the Tanzhong point with your thumb for 1 minute.

Danzhong acupoint is one of the most important acupoints in the meridians of traditional Chinese medicine. It is located in the "pit of the heart" on the chest, right between the two nipples, on the Ren meridian of the Ren and Du meridians. It is the "Qi meeting point" (the transportation hub for the circulation of "qi") among the "eight meeting points". It can replenish heart qi and promote blood circulation throughout the body. It is the first important acupoint in traditional Chinese medicine for treating heart disease.

2. Tanzhong acupoint is a powerful "heart-saving pill" that enhances myocardial blood supply

In life, people often find that when someone is stimulated and gets angry, especially older women, they are prone to earth-shaking behavior, beating their chests and stamping their feet, and feeling heartache, which may scare people. Don't think that other people's actions are exaggerated at this time. In fact, these people, especially those with heart disease and coronary heart disease, often have obstructed qi circulation, qi stagnation and blood stasis, and insufficient blood supply to the heart. Patients will definitely feel very uncomfortable.

At this time, you can help the patient stimulate the Tanzhong point to provide blood supply to the myocardium. If you have these diseases and find that your chest hurts, you should sit down and rest immediately, and gently massage the Tanzhong point with your thumb to give the body some external help. In fact, clinical experiments have also found that stimulating the Tanzhong point can dilate blood vessels and adjust heart function.
