The hazards of long-term physical labor

People who engage in physical labor for a long time will suffer harm to their health when they get old, such as migrant workers, people on construction sites, and mountain climbers. Because they have no knowledge and no certain economic source, they can only engage in labor sports. However, due to long-term excessive physical exertion, the body is particularly prone to fatigue, and problems with the knees, waist, and shoulders begin to appear in old age. This article introduces the dangers of long-term physical labor. Let’s take a look.

1. Long-term physical labor will cause excessive fatigue of the body, and the body's qi and blood will easily be overdrawn. Excessive fatigue will easily lead to fatigue neutralization syndrome, which is a systemic disease, such as lumbar muscle strain, femoral head necrosis, arthritis, periarthritis of the shoulder, etc.

People who do physical labor for long periods of time are generally stronger. This is because during exercise, tissues and organs in certain parts of the body are exercised and therefore become more developed. The activity of the heart will also increase. The premise is physical strength, not mental strength. However, due to the characteristics of the work and the limitations of the production labor method, only one or several muscle groups of the body can be active, and it is easy to feel tired. If physical activity and rest are not properly combined, some diseases will occur.

3 For example: long-term monotonous bending movements can easily cause fatigue of the waist and back muscles and damage the sacrospinal muscles, which is usually called lumbar muscle strain. Some jobs require standing for long periods of time, which can cause blood flow obstruction from the lower limb veins and easily lead to varicose veins in the lower limbs. Jobs that require sitting for long periods of time can increase abdominal pressure and cause diseases such as indigestion. Physical exercise can exercise the muscles and tissues of various parts of the human body, such as making muscle fibers thicker and stronger; it can enhance the contractility of the myocardium and improve blood vessel elasticity; it can increase lung capacity; and it can make the nervous system more flexible and responsive.
