Pain in the middle of the chest above the stomach

Pain in the middle of the chest above the stomach

With the progress of today's society, people's lives are gradually improving. Everyone feels that food is becoming more and more abundant, but many people have some bad habits when eating or cannot eat on time, which will lead to some stomach diseases. Gastric ulcer is one of the common stomach diseases. When suffering from gastric ulcer, the patient will experience obvious pain.

The pain in the middle of the chest above the stomach is mainly due to certain gastritis or gastric ulcer, which can be confirmed by gastroscopy. In this case, it is recommended to pay attention to diet and avoid eating sour and spicy foods. At the same time, it is recommended that you take some stomach-nourishing medicines orally to help regulate your condition.

Symptoms of stomach ulcer

1. Abdominal pain:

Gastric ulcers often present with abdominal pain. The abdominal pain of gastric ulcer is often located on the left side of the midline of the upper abdomen or in the left upper abdomen; for ulcers located high in the lesser curvature of the stomach, the cardia or the fundus of the stomach, the pain may occur in the lower left part of the anterior chest; when the gastric ulcer is located on the posterior wall or penetrates the pancreas backwards, back pain may occur.

2. Weight Loss:

Many patients with gastric ulcers experience significant weight loss, which is the result of reduced calorie intake. Patients with gastric ulcers often experience abdominal pain after eating, and do not feel pain if they do not eat. Therefore, in order to reduce pain, patients would rather eat less or not eat. Because the type and amount of food are related to pain, patients often choose food too carefully or reduce their diet. For this reason, long-term insufficient calorie intake can lead to weight loss and even malnutrition. Weight loss is sometimes quite significant and, if it occurs in patients over 40 years old, may even cause clinicians to suspect a malignancy.

3. Bleeding:

Gastric ulcers are prone to bleeding, the amount of bleeding is heavy, and they are prone to recurrence.

4. Others:

Loss of appetite, bloating after meals, nausea, and vomiting are some atypical symptoms of gastric ulcer.

Generally speaking, when traditional medicines are used to treat gastrointestinal diseases, they not only kill harmful bacteria in the stomach and intestines, but also damage beneficial bacteria. This directly destroys the balance of bacteria in the stomach and intestines, which is the root cause of recurrent gastrointestinal ulcers.
