[Properties] This product is a brown liquid with a fragrant smell and a bitter-sweet taste.

Identification

(1) Take 20 ml of the product and extract it twice with ethyl acetate-ethanol solution, 30 ml each time. Combine the ethyl acetate extracts and evaporate them to dryness on a water bath. Add 1 ml of methanol to the residue to dissolve it and use it as the test solution. Take another forsythiaside reference substance and add methanol to prepare a solution containing 1 mg per 1 ml as the reference substance solution. According to the thin layer chromatography method (Appendix Ⅵ B of Part I of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2000 edition), 5 μl of each of the above two solutions were taken and spotted on the same silica gel G thin layer plate containing 5% sodium hydroxide, and the lower layer solution of benzene-acetone-ethyl acetate-formic acid-water (20:25:30:3:3) placed below 10°C was used as the developing agent. The plate was developed, taken out, dried, sprayed with 10% ethanolic sulfuric acid solution, and heated at 105°C until the spots were clearly colored. In the test sample chromatogram, a spot of the same color appears at the corresponding position in the reference sample chromatogram.

(2) Take this product as the test solution. Take another baicalin reference substance, add 50% ethanol to make a solution containing 1 mg per 1 ml, and spot it on the same polyamide film. Use ethanol-36% acetic acid (1:3) as the developing agent, develop it, take it out, dry it, and spray it with 1% ferric chloride ethanol solution. In the test sample chromatogram, the same dark blue spot appears at the corresponding position in the reference sample chromatogram.

(3) Take this product, add 4 g of diatomaceous earth, mix well, evaporate to dryness, extract with appropriate amount of methanol for 1 hour, filter, and concentrate the filtrate to 1 ml as the test solution. Take another puerarin reference substance, add ethanol to make a solution containing 1 mg per 1 ml, and spot it on the same silica gel G thin layer plate. Use chloroform-methanol-water (7:2.5:0.25) as the developing agent, develop, take out, dry, and examine under ultraviolet light (365nm). In the test sample chromatogram, the same bright blue fluorescent spot appears at the corresponding position in the reference sample chromatogram.

[Inspection] The relative density should not be less than 1.01 (Appendix VII A of Part I of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2000 Edition). The pH value should be 4.0-6.0 (Appendix VII G of Part I of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2000 Edition). Others should comply with the relevant provisions under the mixture (Appendix Ⅰ J of Part I of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2000 Edition).
