Type 2: Latent prostate cancer

Type 3: Occult prostate cancer

Patients have no symptoms or signs of prostate disease, but pathological examination of lymph node biopsy or bone puncture specimens confirms prostate cancer. This can be further confirmed by prostate puncture biopsy. These patients have elevated serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA) and prostatic acid phosphatase levels. PSA and (or) PAP immunohistochemical staining of biopsy tissue are both positive.

Type 4: Clinical prostate cancer

Clinical examinations can diagnose prostate cancer, which can be confirmed by biopsy. Elevated serum PSA and PAP levels can also assist in diagnosis. Most patients can feel prostate nodules during rectal examination, and ultrasound examinations show that prostate nodules are irregular in shape, uneven in echo and low in echo.
