Is the fetal heart rate monitor useful?

Some people may not know much about what a fetal heart monitor is? Here is a brief introduction. A fetal heart monitor is a relatively advanced electronic instrument that can help pregnant women monitor the fetal heart rate. Generally speaking, if the pregnant woman is in the hospital, the hospital will provide fetal heart monitoring. Now, smart fetal heart monitors have emerged, which are more likely to be liked and used by people than before. Generally, pregnant women use this instrument to monitor whether the fetus in their abdomen is developing normally. You can know the condition of the fetus in the womb in time.

Nowadays, many first-time parents attach great importance to their first child, but many people are also worried about whether the fetal heart rate monitor is useful. In order to solve this confusion for everyone, today I will talk to you about whether fetal heart rate monitor is useful.

Is fetal heart rate monitor useful?

1. The purpose of antenatal fetal heart rate monitoring is to monitor the condition of the fetus, as well as the early detection and correction of fetal hypoxia; to try to deliver the baby before the fetus is injured, so as to reduce antenatal mortality.

2. The sign of early fetal hypoxia is a frequent fetal heart rate of more than 160 beats/minute; this then turns into a decrease in fetal movement, less than 3-4 times/hour; in the late stage of fetal hypoxia, the fetal heart rate is less than 120 beats/minute, and the fetal movement decreases or stops. It is generally believed that in most cases of intrauterine fetal hypoxia, the period from the time when the fetal heart rate becomes faster to the time when the fetal heart rate disappears can last up to 12 to 48 hours. If timely treatment or cesarean section is performed during this period, the fetal life may still be saved.

3. Regular prenatal check-ups at the hospital alone are often insufficient to detect fetal hypoxia in time. Pregnant women should also perform self-monitoring of the fetal heart rate. For high-risk pregnant women, only strict fetal heart rate self-monitoring can ensure the normal growth and development of the fetus and avoid perinatal death. For ordinary pregnant women, self-monitoring of fetal heart rate can help them understand the health of the fetus at any time and prevent possible accidents.

4. Listen to the fetal heart rate. Correct fetal heart position. After hearing the baby's stable and continuous fetal heart sound, stay still for a while to allow the fetal heart monitor probe to receive stable and continuous fetal heart signals. Only then will the displayed value be acceptable. Generally, you listen for 1-2 minutes each time and count the number of fetal heartbeats in 1 minute. 120-160 beats/minute is within the normal range. Please note that the value of the fetal heart rate monitor is not constant, but will fluctuate slightly.

In fact, fetal heart rate monitors are very useful, allowing everyone to monitor the condition of the fetus at home. However, when choosing, you must choose products produced by regular manufacturers. Do not buy fakes, and do not be greedy for cheapness, because this fetal heart monitor will only be truly useful if you buy a regular one.
