Why does my buttocks itch at night?

In people's daily lives, there will be some diseases to a greater or lesser extent, because many factors in people's daily lives can cause the occurrence of their own diseases. Itchy buttocks at night is a typical disease. This disease is relatively rare, so many people are unclear about the cause of this disease. So, what is the matter with itchy buttocks at night?

First, why does your buttocks itch at night? Pinworm disease is an intestinal parasitic disease that causes itching in the anus and perineum. Enterobiasis is a common parasitic disease that is transmitted between children. The main symptom is extreme itching around the anus, which is worse at night. The child becomes irritable and restless, or scratches with his hands to relieve the itch. Severe cases may cause perianal inflammation or complications such as other skin diseases and insomnia, enuresis, etc. The disease occurs when a child swallows pinworm eggs. The food children eat, the clothes they wear, and the toys they play with may all be contaminated with pinworm eggs, which can enter the human body through food and cause pinworm disease. Mature female pinworms lay eggs near the anus of the sick child at night, causing severe itching. If the child reaches out to scratch his anus, some pinworm eggs will be stuck on his fingers and nails. If your child sucks his fingers or eats without washing his hands, he can become infected again. Pinworms can also be passed to family members through contaminated food, drinking glasses, bed sheets and towels.

Second, adult worms parasitize in the human cecum, appendix, colon, rectum and lower ileum. In severe cases, they can also parasitize in the upper small intestine and even the stomach and esophagus. The worm body attaches to the intestinal mucosa with the help of the head wings and lip, or remains free in the intestinal cavity. Adult worms feed on intestinal contents, tissue, or blood. After the male and female worms mate, the female worm's uterus is filled with eggs and migrates to the lower intestinal cavity. When people fall asleep, some female worms migrate outside the anus and due to changes in temperature and humidity and stimulation of oxygen, they begin to ovulate in large numbers, and the eggs are attached to the skin around the anus. After ovulation, most female worms die of desiccation, but a few can migrate back to the intestinal cavity through the anus. If it enters the vagina, uterus, fallopian tube, urethra, abdominal cavity, pelvic cavity and other parts, it may cause ectopic parasitism.

Why does the buttocks itch at night? If the area around the anus or perineum is often itchy, and the child is restless at night, you should be aware of the possibility of pinworm disease. If the worms and eggs can be found, the diagnosis can be confirmed. 1. Egg inspection method: Due to the special egg-laying habits of pinworms, the positive rate of egg detection in feces is less than 5%. There is a method for checking for extra-anal ova. 1. Wiping method: Place a cotton swab in sterilized saline, wring it dry before use, wipe the area around the anus, mix well on a slide with 50% glycerol solution, and then examine under a microscope. You can also use the flat head of a toothpick to soak it in 50% glycerol or 1% sodium hydroxide solution, then use it to scrape the wrinkles around the anus. Scrape the scraped material with a coverslip, smear it on a slide, and drop 1 drop of 50% glycerol or 1% potassium hydroxide for microscopic examination. 2. Floating method: Place a cotton swab in physiological saline, squeeze it dry, wipe the area around the anus, then place the cotton swab in a test tube with saturated saline, shake it thoroughly to wash the eggs into the saline, and then float the collected eggs for microscopic examination. 3. Cellophane tape swabbing method: Use cellophane tape to swab the skin around the anus before defecation in the morning, and examine it under a low-power microscope for 3 consecutive times. The positive rate can reach 79.4%. This method is simple and suitable for use in censuses. Second, the worm examination method: examine the anus of the child 1 to 3 hours after falling asleep. If there are worms crawling out, use tweezers to hold them in a small bottle of alcohol for preservation. Because pinworms do not necessarily crawl out to lay eggs every night, continuous observation for 3 to 5 days is necessary.
