Can a half-rotten tooth be repaired?

Can a half-rotten tooth be repaired?

Tooth filling is very common in life. It is used to restore the function of teeth. However, many people suffer from tooth decay due to long-term consumption of sweets. Tooth decay will cause pain to patients and the condition will also cause teeth to rot. If the degree of rot is not very serious, it can be treated by filling. However, some people have half of their teeth rotten. So can half of the rotten teeth still be filled?

First, can a half-rotten tooth be filled? It cannot be filled. There are two reasons why it cannot be filled: first, tooth decay causes pain, which means that the pulp is infected by bacteria and may have caused pulpitis. At this time, root canal treatment is required; second, the area of tooth decay is too large, and composite resin fillings are often ineffective and are prone to fall off soon after filling. Tooth decay causes inflammation of the tooth roots and pustules on the gums. The doctor will take X-rays to examine the symptoms.

Second, there are usually three stages of tooth decay, please identify which one applies to you: Stage 1: There are black lines on the occlusal surface of the teeth, which is most common on large teeth, indicating that tooth decay has begun. The enamel is decayed by bacteria, but it does not hurt or itch. Pit and fissure caries will occur and the teeth must be filled in time instead of going for teeth cleaning; Stage 2: Small black holes appear on the teeth, indicating moderate tooth decay has occurred. Bacteria have corroded the dentin, accompanied by tooth sensitivity. The black corrupt substance is actually the product of bacteria. At this time, the tooth can be filled again; Stage 3: More than half of the tooth is rotten, indicating that it is severely decayed. Bacteria have damaged the pulp and dental nerves, and it is accompanied by severe pain. Dental nerve lesions require root canal treatment at this time to save the scarred teeth.

Can a half-rotten tooth be filled? No. If you want to fill a mildly decayed tooth, which material is more cost-effective? Currently, these two are most commonly used. Choose according to your tooth decay situation: glass ionomer, a filling material with good biocompatibility, has better adhesion to tooth tissue, protects the pulp while releasing fluoride to prevent tooth decay again. This material is more suitable for filling children's deciduous teeth that are decayed. Composite resin is a filling material that is close to the color of teeth. It has good adhesion and is particularly wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant. Most importantly, no traces of filling can be seen after the filling. It can be used by both adults and children.
