A swelling feeling under the right ribs

A swelling feeling under the right ribs

The ribs are located in the chest of the human body and mainly play the role of protecting and supporting the internal organs of the human body. The human body has 12 pairs of ribs, of which 1-7 pairs are true ribs connected to the sternum, 8-12 ribs are false ribs, and 11 and 12 ribs are free ribs, also called floating ribs. The ribs are both hard and fragile. They play the role of protecting human organs, but are also very susceptible to injury from external impacts. So what is the reason for the swollen feeling under the right ribs?

The major organs under the right rib cage are the liver, gallbladder, and diaphragm. If the pain occurs when lying down and is relieved when standing up, you should consider a gallbladder problem. If symptoms such as jaundice and abnormal liver function occur, liver problems should be considered. The pain mainly occurs when inhaling and hiccuping. There are generally only two possibilities: one is spasm of the diaphragm smooth muscle. You can take a piece of belladonna to see if it relieves the pain. The second is a fractured rib. Try pressing the ribs to see if there is any particularly painful area. If so, it's a fracture.

Because the early symptoms of hepatitis B are relatively hidden, many patients neglect to treat it, resulting in more serious symptoms in the later stages. Many people are afraid of liver disease. As long as there are some abnormalities in the body, they think it is caused by hepatitis B. So what causes it? Experts from Jinan Traditional Chinese Medicine Liver Disease Hospital pointed out that there are actually many causes, and it is not just caused by hepatitis B.

1. Gallbladder disease: If you suffer from cholecystitis, gallstones and other diseases, you may also experience symptoms of dull pain under the right ribs.

Costochondritis: The pain is mostly found in the rib arch and the cartilage near the sternum, but the cause is often unknown. The pain is more severe during activities and there is local pain when pressing.

2 Hepatitis: The liver is located in the right upper abdomen of the human body, close to the right hypochondrium. If the liver is diseased and inflamed, especially for patients with hepatitis B, cirrhosis, liver cancer, liver cysts, etc., symptoms of dull pain under the right ribs will appear. Active and effective treatment is needed at this time.

3. People with long-term irregular diets, especially those who are alcoholics, overeaters, or severely obese people, if they experience pain when pressing under the right ribs, they should be alert to the presence of fatty liver, which may have even developed to the middle stage of fatty liver. Fat accumulates in the liver, causing liver cell degeneration and necrosis, liver damage, and external force compressing the liver area, causing discomfort in the liver area to turn into dull pain;

4. Chronic hepatitis patients experience pain under the right ribs when pressing. This is often caused by an acute attack of the disease, especially when chronic persistent hepatitis turns to the active stage, immune clearance is enhanced, liver cell damage is aggravated, liver inflammation becomes more and more obvious, and compression of the liver area will cause symptoms of pain under the right ribs.

5 People with large mood swings and frequent fits of rage and temper will suffer from liver damage due to anger. Losing temper will also cause pain under the right ribs when pressing. The symptoms can be quickly relieved through conditioning. Of course, if there is pain under the right ribs, it may also be other diseases such as cholecystitis.
