Fungal ear infection symptoms

Fungal ear infection symptoms

The human body is composed of various parts, and the skin is the organ with the largest coverage area. Its main functions are to sweat and protect internal organs. However, the skin is in contact with external bacteria for a long time, which can easily lead to bacterial infections. It is also easy for a lot of bacteria to remain in the ears of the human body, producing earwax. Many people have experienced bacterial ear infections, which are not only extremely painful but also affect our hearing system. So what are the symptoms of a fungal ear infection?

1. Symptoms of Fungal Ear Infection

The symptoms of fungal ear infection mainly include redness, swelling and itching of the ear canal. For the treatment of fungal ear infection, you can take fluconazole tablets orally, or you can use external application of Tefuwang, Dingke or terbinafine hydrochloride powder spray with antifungal effect on the affected area. Generally, patients will gradually get better after about 4 weeks of use. Patients should pay attention to personal hygiene.

2. Causes of fungal otitis externa

1. The external auditory canal of a normal person is in a slightly acidic environment. If water enters the ear or improper medication is used, the pH value of the external auditory canal will change, which is conducive to the growth of fungi.

2. Swimming, ear picking, etc. cause inflammation of the external auditory canal, the immersion of pus from otitis media, the accumulation and irritation of secretions in the external auditory canal, and fungi are able to breed and multiply.

3. Systemic chronic diseases, decreased body resistance, or long-term and high-dose use of antibiotics throughout the body all provide conditions for the growth of fungi.

4. The improper use and abuse of antibiotics in recent years have also increased the chances of fungal infections.

3. Precautions for otitis media

Traditional Chinese medicine initially considered it to be damp-heat in the liver and gallbladder, while Western medicine considered it to be otitis media. Otitis media is often caused by local infection with bacteria or fungi. Tinnitus, deafness, itching, redness, swelling and pain in the ears are common symptoms, and long-term otitis media can lead to hearing loss. It is recommended to get more rest, not stay up late, and eat easily digestible food. Don't eat spicy food. Don't eat fatty or salty foods. Don’t eat eggs or beef. Keep a happy mood and don’t be overly nervous or anxious.
