A lump in the breast is breast cancer Although breast cancer is mainly manifested by breast lumps, 80% of the lumps felt in the breast are not breast cancer, and most are benign, including lobular hyperplasia of the breast, fibroids of the breast, hyperplasia of the breast, intraductal papilloma, breast cancer, etc. The differences between them are as follows: 1. Breast hyperplasia lumps. The lumps vary in size, are often in flake form, have unclear boundaries, are of medium to slightly hard texture, and are painful to touch. The lumps become larger and harder before menstruation and shrink and soften after menstruation. 2. Lobular hyperplasia of the breast may occur on both sides or as a single lump. The lumps vary in size and are painful to touch. There is breast tenderness before menstruation and the size of the lumps changes with the menstrual cycle. It is more common in young and middle-aged people. 3. Breast cyst, it contains liquid, the essence of the cyst is a blister, it can be a simple cyst or a milk cyst. It can usually be diagnosed by clinical palpation. The cystic mass is usually round or oval, and is tough and elastic to palpation. Color ultrasound suggests: no echo. Breast fibroids: They are common in young women around 20 years old. They are painless lumps that can be unilateral or bilateral. The size of the fibroids is not related to the menstrual cycle. They usually grow slowly, are mostly round or oval in shape, have good mobility, feel sliding when palpated, and often have capsules when cut open. 5. Intraductal papilloma, which is usually accompanied by nipple discharge, and larger ones may appear as hard breast lumps. 6. Breast cancer lumps are hard, unilateral, poorly mobile, adhered to the skin, and develop rapidly over a period of time. The lumps are not related to menstruation and are more common in middle-aged and elderly people. In the early stages, they are mostly painless lumps that grow for several months or even years without any pain. This is also one of the reasons why breast cancer is treated late. In addition to breast lumps, advanced breast cancer will also have enlarged axillary lymph nodes on the same side. |
