What organ is behind the ribs?

In daily life, people often experience pain in the rib area. When this symptom occurs, the whole person cannot move too much. The pain will worsen when the body exerts force. Even a slight cough will cause unbearable pain. The causes of this pain are relatively complicated. For example, it may be caused by inflammation in the rib area, or it may be caused by diseases of other internal organs. So what organ is behind the human ribs?

What organ is behind the ribs?

In this case, there is a possibility of intercostal neuritis. It is recommended to pay attention to rest and avoid fatigue. If the pain is severe, you can take ibuprofen orally and use hot compresses for treatment. If conditions permit, you can go to the hospital for a chest X-ray to see the specific situation. This situation does not rule out the possibility of gastritis and other conditions. It is recommended to eat a light diet and avoid irritating foods.

The main organ under the right ribs is the liver. Excluding muscle and rib pain, most of the pain is caused by the liver.

The position and morphological structure of the liver in the human body: The liver is mainly located in the right hypochondrium and epigastric region. Most of the liver is covered by the costal arches. It is only exposed between the epigastric region and the right costal arch and directly contacts the anterior abdominal wall. The upper side of the liver is connected to the diaphragm and the anterior abdominal wall. From the perspective of surface projection, the upper border of the liver is at the 5th rib on the right midclavicular line and at the 6th rib on the right midaxillary line; the lower border of the liver is consistent with the front edge of the liver, starting from the lowest point of the costal arch, along the upper left edge of the right costal arch, leaving the costal arch at the junction of the 8th and 9th costal cartilages, slanting to the upper left, to the anterior midline, and to the left side to the junction of the costal arch and the 7th and 8th cartilages. Generally speaking, it should be a muscle pain, which can be treated with hot compress.

The last rib on the left, below which is the spleen. Analysis suggests that the neuralgia may be caused by costal neuritis. It is recommended to go to the local hospital and see the general surgery department after excluding abdominal organ damage. It is clear that costal neuritis can be treated with blockade.

From the front, it may be the stomach or spleen and pancreas, and from the back, it may be the kidneys.

Guidance:

It is recommended to do a B-ultrasound to rule out pain caused by organic lesions. If the pain is not caused by organic lesions, there is no need to worry too much. It is recommended to go to the hospital for a check-up as soon as possible.

Is it "below the ribs" or "inside the ribs"? Inside the ribs are the lungs, on the lower left is the spleen, in the middle are the stomach and left lobe of the liver, and on the right are the right lobe of the liver and the gallbladder. A little lower on both sides are the kidneys. The heart and lungs are located in the cavity above called the "thoracic cavity" and are protected by the ribs. If we are talking about the area below the ribs, that is the upper abdominal cavity, which mainly includes the stomach, small intestine (duodenum, etc.), large intestine (transverse colon), liver, gallbladder, pancreas, etc. Further down is the abdominal cavity, and those places are farther away from the ribs.

The internal organs include all organs of the digestive system, respiratory system, urinary system, and reproductive system.

Digestive system: the tubes from mouth to anus (esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, etc.) and the digestive glands that open here (salivary glands, liver, pancreas, etc.).

Respiratory system: nose, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi and lungs.

Urinary system: kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra.
