What are the treatments for rheumatic arthritis

Good health is the capital of revolution. Only with a healthy body can you work and live better. However, some people always experience suffering from some diseases, such as rheumatism. This disease is mostly caused by bad living habits, long-term exposure to cold environment, weak constitution, cold body, etc. Once people suffer from this disease, they should pay more attention to keeping warm. It is best not to stay in a cold environment for a long time, and reduce the stay in air-conditioning and fan areas. So besides these, what other treatments are there?

How is rheumatism caused?

1.1 Bad living habits

In daily life, being blown by the wind, drenched by the rain, sitting in damp or cold places for a long time, sleeping in wet places or using electric fans or air conditioners can all cause colds; after fatigue and warm-up exercises, cold air invades and causes various pain symptoms; after sweating, the epidermis becomes cold, allowing cold air to enter the body, hindering the circulation of qi and blood and causing pain symptoms; catching a cold due to a bad mood can cause cold air to enter the meridians.

How is rheumatism caused?

1.2. Being in a cold environment for a long time

People often work in a cold environment, which can cause cold evil to enter the body. Over time, the lower limbs will become cold, painful, stiff, and limited in movement.

1.3. Cold constitution

Some people in life are particularly afraid of cold and wind, and cannot eat cold food or drinks; they cannot wear shorts in summer, and women cannot wear skirts, etc. This group of people are particularly susceptible to rheumatism, and after suffering from rheumatism, colds and flu make their physical condition even weaker, often forming a vicious circle.

1.4 Infection factors

According to research over the years, a variety of infectious factors, antigens or superantigens produced by microorganisms can directly or indirectly stimulate or initiate immune responses. This is a common cause of rheumatic diseases.

2. What are the symptoms of rheumatic arthritis?

2.1. Involvement of large joints

Since rheumatism has an acute onset, the affected joints are mainly large joints. The knees and ankles are most commonly affected. Next most common are the small joints of the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, and feet. Joint lesions are multiple and migratory, with obvious local inflammation in the joints.

2.2. Joint pain and swelling

The symptoms of early rheumatism are joint pain, swelling and limited movement, which do not last long and often disappear on their own within a few days. There is no disability after the joint inflammation subsides, and recurrence is rare.

2.3. Fever and palpitations

Clinically, it is also found that many patients also have fever, palpitations, etc., which are also common symptoms of rheumatism. In the acute phase, patients may experience symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis such as fever, sore throat, palpitations, increased erythrocyte sedimentation rate and increased C-reactive protein, which can return to normal after the condition improves.

2.4 Fatigue

Fatigue often occurs together with symptoms such as pain, stiffness, and fatigue, and sometimes patients cannot recognize what fatigue is. Patients will find themselves experiencing symptoms of fatigue when they are unable to walk, chew, swallow, etc.

How to prevent rheumatism

1. Combine work and rest

Excessive fatigue can easily damage the body's vital energy, allowing wind, cold and dampness to take advantage of the opportunity to invade. Therefore, it is very important to combine work and rest, eat in moderation, have a regular daily routine, avoid overwork, and exercise and rest in moderation.

2. Strengthen exercise at ordinary times

Improve physical fitness. Regularly participate in physical exercise or productive labor to strengthen the body, improve the ability to resist disease and defend against invasion of wind, cold, dampness and other evils.

3. Avoid the invasion of wind, cold and dampness

After working or exercising, patients should not take a cold bath while sweating and should not be exposed to wind. Mattresses and quilts should be washed and dried frequently to keep them clean and dry. Underwear should be changed and washed in time if it is wet with sweat. The living environment should have sufficient sunlight and good air circulation from time to time.
