Can self-pressing correct teeth?

When the health of teeth is damaged, it must be dealt with in a timely manner, otherwise it may have a very negative impact on people's lives, because the strength of teeth is limited. If they are damaged, it is difficult to recover. Many people will have problems with their teeth due to various factors. At this time, correction is needed. Let's take a look at whether self-pressure can correct teeth?

Orthodontic treatment is the best solution for crooked teeth. At present, fixed orthodontic treatment is generally adopted. Its working principle is to pull the teeth through continuous force, change the original position of the teeth, so as to achieve the purpose of correction. Its force must be continuous and steady. Therefore, it is impossible to achieve this effect by pressing the teeth with your hands.

In fact, it is best to go to the hospital. If you don’t go, there are the following methods:

◎Eat less of the following foods

Careful orthodontic patients can eat almost any food without harming their orthodontic devices, but the following three types of foods should be avoided:

(1) Hard foods: such as sugar cane, pork ribs, hard guava, ice cubes, etc. Since patients have to spend a lot of effort to bite or chew these foods, they may loosen the braces and deform the correction wires, affecting the movement of the teeth.

(2) Overly sticky foods: Foods such as maltose and rice cakes can stick to braces and correction wires and cause them to shift.

(3) High-sugar foods: Such as common candies, biscuits and other snacks. To avoid tooth decay, it is best not to eat them during the correction period. If you really can’t help eating them, be sure to brush your teeth immediately.

In addition, to avoid biting off the braces, it is best to cut foods that require large bites, such as apples, into small pieces before eating slowly.

◎Pay attention to a balanced diet

The movement of teeth depends on the absorption and deposition of periodontal bones, and a balanced diet helps the normal movement of teeth. In order to avoid nutritional imbalance affecting the treatment effect, more attention should be paid to a balanced diet during the correction period.

◎Supplement more vitamin C

Vitamin C helps bone healing and the formation of periodontal ligaments. Therefore, daily vitamin C supplementation can maintain periodontal health during orthodontic treatment.

Sources of vitamin C include: oranges or orange juice, lemons or lemon juice, grapes or grape juice, strawberries, mangoes, watermelons, tomatoes, cantaloupes, asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, spinach, potatoes, etc.
