Why do I get diarrhea so easily?

In ancient China, as medical technology was not well developed, diarrhea alone could claim many lives. Of course, when people eat unclean food or food that is infected with bacteria or viruses, a series of adverse reactions will occur. This is what we call diarrhea. So let’s take a look at what causes diarrhea.

1. What is the reason for frequent diarrhea recently?

1. Unclean diet: Unclean diet leads to infection with E. coli, Salmonella, Shigella, etc., which causes diarrhea, resulting in unformed stools and frequent loose stools.

2. Caused by enteritis: Enteritis caused by drug abuse, viral infection, etc. can also lead to unformed stools and loose stools.

3. Indigestion caused by: irregular diet, overeating, eating indigestible food, or food retention in the stomach due to insufficient gastric motility, resulting in unformed stools, frequent bowel movements, and mostly diarrhea.

4. Gastrointestinal dysfunction: Gastrointestinal dysfunction causes unformed and loose stools, often manifested as alternating constipation and diarrhea.

2. Items that need to be checked for frequent diarrhea

1. Routine stool examination, fecal fat examination, fecal occult blood examination, stool fungus examination, etc., can help to understand whether it is infectious diarrhea or malabsorption syndrome.

2. Gastroscopy and colonoscopy help detect organic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

3. Abdominal ultrasound examination helps to understand liver, gallbladder, and pancreatic diseases.

4. If necessary, perform pancreatic function tests, small intestinal function tests, serum tumor marker tests, plasma hormone tests such as thyroid function tests, etc.

The purpose of the above examinations is to rule out organic diseases. After a clear diagnosis, treatment can be more targeted. The diagnosis of gastrointestinal dysfunction is a diagnosis of exclusion, that is, a diagnosis of functional disorder can only be made if no obvious abnormalities are found in any examination.
