What do you put in the IV drip for heat stroke

In the hot summer, many people suffer from symptoms of heat stroke because they cannot bear the unbearable high temperature. Heatstroke can make people feel extremely uncomfortable and may even cause the patient to fall into a coma. If not treated promptly, it may even threaten the patient's life. After suffering from heatstroke, you must not receive an IV drip, as it will increase the risk to the patient. Below we will introduce you to the relevant knowledge about heat stroke in detail.

1. Do not use intravenous drip after heat stroke

Heatstroke is a general term for the symptoms of temperature regulation disorders, water and electrolyte metabolism disorders and nervous system dysfunction caused by long-term exposure to high temperature and heat radiation.

In case of heatstroke, it does not mean that you absolutely do not need salt water. This is because during the process of heatstroke, some people will feel nausea, vomit, and lose a large amount of electrolytes, so they need to replenish salt water.

It is common sense that you cannot receive intravenous drips when you have heatstroke. Some people had cramps while receiving an IV drip, and there were even cases of death after suffering from heatstroke! Therefore, you must not get an IV drip after having heatstroke!

2. What should I do after suffering from heat stroke?

After suffering from heatstroke, you can apply cooling oil, wind oil, etc. on your head, or take Chinese medicine such as Ren Dan, Shi Di Shui, and Huoxiang Zhengqi Shui!

Protection against heatstroke: 1. Avoid the scorching sun when traveling. 2. Drink more water. 3. Pay attention to your diet. 4. Get enough sleep. 5. Be careful of emotional heatstroke.

3. Seven ways to prevent heat stroke:

1. Warm water shower: It is best to shower or bathe with warm water slightly below body temperature, especially before going to bed;

2. Avoid strenuous exercise: Strenuous activity will activate body energy and increase internal temperature;

3. Use ice packs: Reusable ice packs are a great tool for lowering skin temperature. The pre-filled liquid in the ice pack has a cooling effect.

4. Choose the right pillow: Use feather or down pillows, and the pillowcases should preferably be made of cotton, as synthetic fiber pillowcases will accumulate heat;

5. Daytime naps: Studies have shown that one of the body's responses to daydreaming is to lower body temperature;

6. Drink chrysanthemum tea: Chrysanthemum tea can cool down and refresh the mind;

7. Rinse your wrists with cold water: Rinse your wrists with tap water for 5 seconds every few hours, because the wrists are where the arteries flow, which can lower the blood temperature.
