Chrysanthemum tea production process

Chrysanthemum tea production process

Chrysanthemum tea is a common type of tea and is also a favorite drink for many friends. In fact, many friends don’t know the production process of chrysanthemum tea. Generally, the production process of chrysanthemum tea involves multiple steps such as picking, shade drying, and sun drying to obtain the perfect chrysanthemum tea. Chrysanthemum tea is a kind of cool tea, so people with weak constitutions are not recommended to drink it or drink too much.

Chrysanthemum tea is made through the processes of picking fresh flowers, drying in the shade, sun-drying, steaming, and baking.

The first step is to pick fresh flowers. When picking fresh chrysanthemums, it is best to choose chrysanthemums with fully opened flowers, bright colors and thick flesh. The best time to pick chrysanthemums is around 3 pm on a sunny day, because at this time the photosynthesis of chrysanthemums has reached its highest value and the accumulation of nutrients has also reached its peak, making this time perfect for picking.

The next step is to put the picked chrysanthemums together, then spread them flat in the steamer for a short period of shade drying. When the moisture has been removed to about 10%, you can proceed to the next step.

At this time, you can put the steaming tray on the rack for steaming. The steaming time should not be too long, about 5 minutes is appropriate.

The purpose of steaming is to shape the chrysanthemum. After steaming, the chrysanthemum has begun to shrink, but in order to better preserve and drink, the steamed chrysanthemum needs to be dried.

Pay attention to controlling the humidity during the drying process, especially the time should not be too long, 10-15 hours is appropriate. This is to prevent the chrysanthemums from being infected by bacteria during the drying period, and also to preserve the bright color of the flowers.

After the chrysanthemums are dried, they can be better stored and drunk.

Before drinking each time, just take out the prepared chrysanthemum tea in advance and put it in a cup, then rinse it with boiling water. After the chrysanthemum is fully opened and the water becomes warm, you can drink it.
