Under normal circumstances, human urine contains no protein or only a small amount of protein. If you suffer from kidney disease, the protein will enter the human kidneys. The human kidneys have a filtering function, but the kidneys cannot filter out the protein. The protein will flow out with the urine, which will cause the human body's urine protein to be high. Kidney disease must be treated in time, otherwise it will have a great impact on the human body. What is high urine protein? One is functional proteinuria, which is caused by strenuous physical labor or exercise, long-distance walking, high-temperature work, freezing cold, mental stress, high fever, heart failure patients or high-protein diet. Second, when standing upright, walking, or with the spine and abdomen protruding forward for a long time, the urine protein content increases, and it decreases or disappears after lying down to rest, which is called postural proteinuria. The third is pathological proteinuria, which is divided into glomerular and tubular types. Its pathogenesis is due to lesions in the glomerular filtration membrane, which leads to increased plasma protein filtration or leakage of large molecular proteins, which exceeds the reabsorption capacity of the renal tubules. Therefore, urine protein is stubborn and persistent in patients with acute or chronic glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, pyelonephritis, purpuric nephritis, lupus nephritis, renal insufficiency, and pregnancy toxification. Does high urine protein mean kidney disease? Normal people may also have high urine protein under special conditions. For example, when the human body is exercising vigorously, doing heavy physical labor, being emotionally excited, being too cold, too hot, or under stress, the amount of urine protein excreted may increase, which is called transient urine protein. The urine protein will return to normal after a few hours or days. Of course, positive urine protein can be physiological or pathological, and the degree of positivity varies with the degree of kidney damage. Drinking too much water will dilute your urine, and even if the urine protein was originally positive, it may turn negative. Therefore, if urine is randomly collected to check for urine protein, its clinical significance is not great, and even if the result is positive, it cannot be diagnosed as kidney disease. However, testing morning urine is much more accurate and can rule out postural proteinuria. As long as you drink an appropriate amount of water after dinner, a positive urine protein in the first urine test the next morning may indicate kidney disease, but the diagnosis still depends on a 24-hour urine protein quantitative test. In other words, if your urine protein is high, there is a high possibility that your kidneys are damaged and an inflammatory reaction has occurred. Note: There is a trace amount of protein in normal human urine, which is qualitatively negative within the normal range and recorded as (-). When the protein content in urine is more than 0.15g/24h, it is called proteinuria, and routine urine tests may show positive results. |
