The role and efficacy of alkali powder

Alkali powder is a powdery substance. Generally speaking, it can be used for both food and industrial use. It has many functions and effects, and it is effective for certain diseases, such as burns. However, many people do not know the functions and effects of alkali powder, or have never heard of alkali powder. So what are the functions and effects of alkali powder?

Alkali powder is in solid state, white in color, fine powder, and easily soluble in water. It is a food loosening agent and meat tenderizer. Proper use will make food look more delicious.

Alkali powder can treat burns. If the burned area is small, apply alkali powder immediately and then add a few drops of water. The alkali powder will dry immediately after being dissolved by water. When you first apply alkali powder to the scalded area, you will feel a burning sensation. After a while, it will feel cool and comfortable, as if the heat is being absorbed by the alkali powder. Repeating this several times can reduce the pain and trauma of the burn. If the burned area is large, you can soak it directly in water with alkali powder for about half an hour or an hour.

In addition to its medicinal functions, alkali powder also has a strong cleansing function. I took a cup full of dirt, rinsed it with clean water first, and then rubbed it hard with my hands, but the dirt still stuck tightly to the cup. I added detergent and rubbed it hard, but there was still some stubborn dirt that didn't budge. I sprinkled alkali powder on the cup, and rubbed it gently while rinsing it with water. All the dirt seemed to be afraid of the alkali powder and ran away. Soon the cup became as bright and clean as new!

Edible alkali: refers to pure alkali (sodium carbonate) and baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), which are different from industrial alkali. Baking soda is a product made by absorbing carbon dioxide into the solution or crystals of pure alkali. There is no difference between the two in essence. Therefore, edible alkali is also called baking soda (powdered) in some places. Edible alkali is solid, round, white in color and easily soluble in water.

Alkali is not a commonly used condiment. It is just a food loosening agent and meat tenderizer. It can make dry ingredients swell quickly, soften fibers, and remove the sour taste of dough. Proper use can bring excellent color, aroma, taste, and shape to food to enhance people's appetite. Alkali is widely used in food processing such as noodles, bread, steamed buns, etc.
