What to do with spicy chili peppers

Sichuan people love spicy food. They put a little chili in almost every dish. They simply cannot live without spicy food. But with the development of various cuisines, spicy food is no longer the favorite of Sichuan people. Many northerners are also increasingly fond of spicy food, especially spicy hot pot. In winter, it is a good choice to invite a group of friends to have a hotpot together. Haijiao is actually chili pepper, which is called chili-flavored Haijiao in Sichuan dialect. So in daily life, if your hands are spicy from eating chili peppers, how should we deal with it? Let’s talk about it below.

The most effective way to relieve the spiciness of chili peppers is: 1. Rub alcohol or vinegar back and forth. 2 Wash your hands with hot water.

The substance that produces the spicy taste in chili peppers is a type of capsaicin, which is collectively called capsaicin. When cutting peppers, capsaicin sticks to the skin, causing the capillaries to dilate, resulting in redness and heat of the skin, and accelerating the local metabolic rate. At the same time, it will stimulate the pain nerves, which is why we usually feel burning hands. It is generally believed that this is caused by capsaicin causing chemical changes in the nerve endings of the skin.

Capsaicin is soluble in ethanol and alkaline aqueous solutions, but insoluble in cold water. In industry, capsaicin is extracted from chili peppers using edible alcohol as an extractant. Therefore, based on this principle, in life, you can apply alcohol to dissolve the capsaicin on your hands. After cutting peppers, you can wipe your hands in one direction with an alcohol cotton ball, then wash your hands with clean water, and then dry them. Do this three times until the symptoms are relieved.

People who should not eat hot peppers

The following people should not eat too much chili pepper: People with febrile diseases, ulcers, chronic gastrointestinal diseases, hemorrhoids, dermatitis, tuberculosis, chronic bronchitis and hypertension should not eat a lot of chili pepper.

Thin people should not eat too much chili peppers, as most thin people have yin deficiency and hot constitution. The so-called "thin people have too much fire" refers to false fire. This type of people often experience symptoms such as dry throat, bitter taste in the mouth, bloodshot eyes, heavy head and light feet, and irritability. Eating too much chili pepper will not only aggravate the above symptoms, but also easily lead to bleeding, allergies and inflammation, and in severe cases, carbuncle infection may occur.

Patients with hyperthyroidism should not eat chili peppers. Patients with hyperthyroidism are often in a highly excited state, so they should not eat chili peppers and other strongly irritating foods. Because patients with hyperthyroidism are prone to tachycardia, eating chili peppers will speed up their heartbeat and aggravate their symptoms.

Patients with nephritis should not eat chili peppers. Foods containing irritating ingredients such as chili peppers and various spicy condiments (such as onions, ginger, garlic, curry, mustard, pepper) and various spices and vegetables rich in volatile oils (such as leeks, fennel, celery, radish, etc.) often have their spicy ingredients excreted through the kidneys during the human body's metabolism. These spicy ingredients have varying degrees of stimulating effects on renal parenchymal cells, which can affect kidney function in severe cases.

Asthma patients should not eat chili peppers. Because capsaicin can sometimes trigger your asthma to flare up.
