The best medicine for treating alcoholic liver disease

Alcoholic liver disease is a type of liver disease that is caused by drinking too much alcohol. This type of liver disease is highly dangerous and is particularly prone to causing certain diseases, and may even be life-threatening. However, there are treatments for alcoholic liver disease. We can treat it with some medications, but many people do not know about the medications for treating alcoholic liver disease, and may not even understand it. So what is the best medication for treating alcoholic liver disease?

Alcoholic liver disease is completely curable, but the time required for treatment cannot be generalized. It has a lot to do with the patient's condition and the choice of hospital. Even with the same treatment, the time it takes for the same patient to be cured in different hospitals may be different. If alcoholic liver disease is to be cured quickly, targeted treatment must be given and an individualized treatment plan must be developed based on the patient's own physical condition.

The prognosis of alcoholic hepatitis is poor, especially for severe patients, who have a high mortality rate and survivors may develop alcoholic cirrhosis. If you insist on abstaining from alcohol, the prognosis of alcoholic cirrhosis is better than that of cirrhosis due to other causes. Since alcoholic liver disease has many complications, timely treatment is key.

In order to shorten the treatment time for alcoholic liver disease, in addition to strictly abstaining from alcohol, you should also develop good eating and resting habits and strengthen exercise.

Causes: 1. Long-term drinking can induce the activity of cytochrome P450 in liver microsomes. The increased activity can aggravate the toxic effects of ethanol and its metabolites on the liver, causing the pores of liver endothelial cells to become more numerous and larger. As a result, triglyceride-rich chylomicrons and their large residues are introduced into liver cells, increasing the fat uptake by liver cells and promoting the formation of fatty liver.

2. Alcohol has the specific effect of increasing the need for choline, which is one of the raw materials for synthesizing phospholipids, and phospholipids are an important raw material for synthesizing lipoproteins. Therefore, the deficiency of phospholipids affects the synthesis of lipoproteins, thereby affecting the smooth transportation of fat from the liver and forming alcoholic fatty liver.

3. Drinking large amounts of alcohol damages oxidative phosphorylation and fatty acid β-oxidation in the body, and increases free fatty acids in the blood and liver cells.

4. Large doses of ethanol stimulate the adrenal glands and the pituitary-adrenal axis, thereby increasing the decomposition rate of adipose tissue. The fatty acids derived from this are then taken up by the liver, increasing the synthesis rate and accumulation of triglycerides in the liver. The lack of apolipoprotein in very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) hinders its secretion, resulting in alcoholic fatty liver.
