I believe everyone knows the principle of traditional Chinese medicine that the disease should be cured in the early stages. This is because most diseases do not occur suddenly, but develop slowly. However, as for treatment, it is definitely better to treat it in the early stages so that the patient can recover faster and suffer less. It is not difficult to do this. You just need to pay more attention to your body and don't miss any abnormalities. For example, the numbness of the second toe on the right foot that I am going to talk about today should attract certain attention. Therefore, some diseases have this symptom in the early stages. Let's learn about it together below. Numbness of hands and feet is an independent disease caused by damage to the motor nerves of the limbs. It is mostly caused by stroke paralysis, diabetes, neuritis, cervical spondylosis, rheumatism, rheumatoid arthritis, vasculitis, lumbar spondylosis, etc. The most common symptoms of neuritis are numbness of the limbs, muscle atrophy, and weakness of the limbs. Peripheral neuritis is also called polyneuritis or multiple peripheral neuritis. It is a general term for multiple peripheral nerve damage caused by various reasons. It manifests as symmetrical sensory, motor and autonomic dysfunction in the distal limbs. Numbness in the hands, feet, or limbs may be accompanied by pain and weakness. The disease progresses slowly and may last for several years to more than ten years. In mild cases, the fingertips (toes) become numb, while in severe cases, the condition may extend to the entire palm, feet, limbs, or even the entire body. Feeling of numbness, distension, difficulty in flexion and extension, inflexible movement, a sensation like ants crawling or pins and needles. Some patients have a sock-cuff-type abnormal sensation, and feel as if the skin has become thicker and the senses are dulled. There are many causes of peripheral neuropathy, and clinical diagnosis of peripheral neuropathy is based on a combination of causes and symptoms. Due to different causes, the main clinical diagnostic criteria are symmetrical sensory, motor and autonomic dysfunction mainly in the distal limbs. 1. Sensory disturbance: In the early stage, the symptoms are usually burning pain, numbness, and other abnormal sensations or hyperesthesia, which gradually lead to sensory impairment or even disappearance. The distribution of sensory disturbance is like a glove or sock. A few patients may have deep sensory disturbance and tenderness in the gastrocnemius muscle. 2. Movement disorders: manifested as decreased muscle strength, low muscle tension, weakened or absent tendon reflexes. In some cases (such as furazolidone), reflexes may be active. After a long illness, muscle atrophy may occur. 3. Autonomic dysfunction: cool, pale, flushed or mildly cyanotic skin on extremities, little or excessive sweating, dry, thin, tender or rough skin, loss of normal luster of nails and toenails, increased keratinization, etc. |
