Gastrointestinal neurosis is a common disease nowadays and it is quite harmful to patients. The disease has a long course and complex symptoms, including palpitations, shortness of breath, chest tightness, insomnia, forgetfulness, etc., which cause serious harm to the patient's body and have a serious impact on his life. Many patients suffering from gastrointestinal neurosis will experience nervous vomiting, nervous fever, anorexia nervosa, etc. Prolonged vomiting and eating less will cause the patient to lose weight. Many people weigh only 40-60% of their original weight. Female patients often have neuroendocrine disorders, manifested as amenorrhea, hypotension, bradycardia, low blood pressure, hunger, etc. So how to treat gastrointestinal neurosis?

Treatment of gastrointestinal neurosis:

1. General treatment: Unless the patient's general condition is very poor, there is no need to rest in bed and the patient can participate in appropriate labor and work. Live a regular life and regularly participate in appropriate cultural and entertainment activities. The diet should consist of foods with little residue and that are easily digestible, and avoid spicy foods and strong condiments. People with anorexia nervosa should be hospitalized and gradually taught to develop normal eating habits.

2. Drug treatment:

(1) Regulate nerve function and improve sleep. Depending on the condition of the disease, the following drugs and methods can be used.

Sedatives: Chlordiazepoxide, diazepam, chlorpromazine, phenobarbital, meprobamate or oryzanol, etc. can be given.

(ii) Antispasmodic and analgesic: Anticholine drugs can relax smooth muscles and have antispasmodic and analgesic effects; such as belladonna preparations, atropine, propantheline, etc.

(III) Neurogenic vomiting can be treated with vitamin B6 10-20 mg three times a day or 100 mg added to 40 ml of 50% glucose and injected intravenously. If vomiting is severe, give medullary anesthetic, promethazine, morphine, etc. as appropriate.

(IV) Enteric neurosis:

1. Constipation can be treated with lubricants such as paraffin oil, magnesium oxide, antalol and plant mucus substances.

2. For diarrhea, you can take 1-2 tablets of compound phenoxylate, 2-3 tablets per day, or 100-200 ml of 0.25% novocaine enema, once a day. Take 1 tablet of Imodium, 2-3 times a day.

3. Treatment with traditional Chinese medicine. Neurogenic vomiting can be treated with modified Xiaobanxia Jia Fuling Decoction. For neurogenic belching, use modified Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction. Emotional diarrhea can be treated with antidiarrheal prescriptions or Fu Zi Li Zhong Tang combined with Si Shen Wan with modifications.

Gastrointestinal neurosis is not an organic disease. Patients should actively cooperate during treatment and increase their trust in doctors. Patients can learn more about the causes and nature of gastrointestinal neurosis to increase their confidence in treatment. The prognosis of gastrointestinal neurosis is good, so patients don't need to worry too much.
