The difference between lambswool and wool

Nowadays, the materials of people's clothes have become more diverse. The most common material is wool. Clothes made of this material will fit better and keep warmer in winter. But now there is a kind of clothes made of lambskin. The effect of clothes made of this material is different. They are softer and more precious than wool clothes, and especially the warmth retention effect is better.

Lambskin is the wool that is shorn when the sheep is about seven months old, and it is also the first time the wool is shorn from the sheep, while wool refers to the wool of adult sheep.

Lambswool is the wool from lambs. Its length and fineness are between wool and cashmere. It has a relatively fine texture and is softer than ordinary wool. It is a common material for winter clothes. It is both warm and fashionable, and is loved and favored by modern women. Of course, the price is also high due to its high quality.

Most wools are thick in texture, with full surface, soft color and plenty of luster. The pattern of the bottom of the woolen and velvet fabrics should not be visible. The texture of the surface is clear and rich. It feels soft, crisp and elastic. Wool blended fabric - Wool and polyester blended fabric has shiny spots on the surface under the sun and lacks the soft and smooth feeling of pure wool fabric. Wool-polyester (polyester-wool) fabrics are crisp but stiff, and this becomes more pronounced as the polyester content increases. The elasticity is better than that of pure wool fabric, but the feel is not as good as that of pure wool and wool-acrylic blended fabric. Hold the fabric tightly and then release it, there will be almost no creases.

There is also a kind of lambskin, which is a high-grade wool between cashmere and ordinary wool. However, there are many fake lambskins on the market, which are confused with super soft short plush and pearl velvet and are widely used in the lining of low-quality winter clothes. The identification method is to burn it. If it breaks into pieces when squeezed after burning, it is real. If it becomes burnt, it is fake. High-quality lambskin fabric is used in the lining of winter coats. It has strong warmth retention and soft texture and is very popular among consumers.

Wool is an important raw material in the textile industry. It has the advantages of good elasticity, strong moisture absorption and good warmth retention. Shearling Shearling is not widely used for the production of nonwovens due to its high price. Nonwoven fabrics produced with high-quality wool are limited to a few high-end industrial fabrics such as needle-punched blankets and high-end needle-punched felt.

Generally, short and coarse wool is used in wool processing to produce carpet backing cloth, core layer of needle-punched carpet, thermal insulation materials and other products through needle punching, sewing and other methods.

The main differences between wool and cashmere are:

1. Different sources: Cashmere and wool grow on different types of sheep - wool comes from sheep, while cashmere is only found on goats.

2. The collection methods are different: Collecting wool is like getting a haircut, just shave it all off with scissors. Each sheep can produce several kilograms of wool every year. Cashmere grows at the roots of the coarse hair of goats. When collecting cashmere, you need to use a special iron comb to comb it off little by little like combing your hair. Only a few dozen grams can be harvested from each sheep.

3. Different fiber fineness: Cashmere has a diameter of 14-16 microns, which is much finer than wool;

4. The fiber shapes are different: wool scales are pointed, while cashmere scales are round; cashmere has no medullary layer.

5. Different characteristics: Cashmere is 1.5 to 2 times warmer than wool, feels smoother, and any slight wrinkles can be restored to flatness by hanging overnight. Cashmere products do not shrink after washing.
