How to correct tooth gaps after tooth extraction

How to correct tooth gaps after tooth extraction

Nowadays, when many people find that their teeth are crooked, they are more willing to accept orthodontic treatment. Having a healthy and straight set of teeth is very important for us. Of course, many people only know about orthodontic treatment, but still don’t understand what it specifically is. Especially when extracting teeth during the correction process, many people worry about whether a large gap will be left.

1. Eighty percent of patients will have their teeth extracted during orthodontic treatment. Patients are curious about why healthy teeth should be extracted? Because tooth extraction is done to create more space for the remaining teeth, which can lead to better correction results.

2. After tooth extraction, a problem will arise, which is what to do with the large gap left behind. This involves a very professional correction process. Usually, the doctor will first use a double layer of steel wire to fix the two teeth in front and behind the extracted tooth, so that the gap can be narrowed.

3. Of course, this is a slow process. When the gap is almost the same, comprehensive correction should be carried out. At this time, the gap left will gradually shrink with the arrangement of each tooth. If there is still a gap in the end, the front and back teeth should be used to narrow the gap.

1. Dietary taboos after tooth extraction:

1. Do not eat anything too cold or too hot after tooth extraction.

2. Do not eat anything too irritating after tooth extraction, such as chili peppers, alcohol, etc.

3. Do not eat anything too hard after tooth extraction. Liquid or semi-liquid food is better.

4. Do not lick or suck the wound repeatedly after tooth extraction, and do not brush the area where the tooth was extracted when brushing your teeth.

5. Generally, you don’t need to take any medicine after tooth extraction. However, when extracting teeth during the acute inflammatory period, or when the trauma is severe or the general condition is poor, oral antibiotics and painkillers should be taken.

6. If the incision caused by tooth extraction is large, such as horizontally impacted wisdom teeth, it is best to take some antibiotics, such as metronidazole.

7. Do not smoke within 12 hours after tooth extraction: smoking promotes bleeding and affects healing.

Dietary principles after tooth extraction:

1. 2 to 4 hours after tooth extraction, the patient can eat residue-free cold liquid diet. Cold food can cause blood vessels to constrict, which helps stop bleeding, reduce edema and pain, and minimize the impact on the wound. You can choose to drink some cold milk, ice cream, juice, etc.

2. You can eat semi-liquid diet and soft food from 4 hours after tooth extraction to the next day, such as egg custard, soft steamed buns, rice porridge, boiled noodles, vegetable puree soup, etc. The diet should be light and no meat or fish should be consumed. Do not eat rough foods, such as leeks, celery, hard rice, etc., so as to avoid the rough particles irritating the wound and hindering healing. Be careful to keep the food warm and not overheated, so as to avoid dilation of blood vessels and bleeding from the wound. Choose tender vegetables and cook them until they are soft and finely chopped. They can then be made into sauces, minced meats, juices and other foods. This way of eating should be continued until 1 week after surgery.

3. Within 1 to 2 days after tooth extraction, you don’t need to consider the nutritional supply of your diet too much. Starting from the third day, you should pay attention to choosing high-nutrition, high-protein diet, such as milk, vegetable and meat porridge, fried tofu, jam bread, tofu pudding, tomato and egg stew, etc.
