Pubic lice are caused by humans, not animals. In other words, this parasite will not be transmitted to humans just because the small animals at home are not clean. Many of them are caused by parasites due to poor hygiene habits. Because pubic lice are usually transmitted through sexual contact, pubic lice is also a sexually transmitted disease and is one of the sexually transmitted diseases defined by the World Health Organization. It is especially prevalent among young men and women who engage in promiscuous sex. Causes of pubic lice: Poor hygiene conditions make pubic lice easy to infest: Pubic lice are most likely to occur in people who live in poor hygiene conditions and crowded environments. Mode of transmission: 1. Sexual transmission often gives pubic lice the opportunity to find new hosts and infect others, so pubic lice often occur among promiscuous people. 2. Direct transmission refers to infection due to limited living conditions, crowded housing, poor sanitary conditions, and sleeping in the same bed with the patient. 3. Indirect transmission of pubic lice, lice eggs are often carried with underwear, towels, bed sheets, toilets, etc., and other people are infected when they touch these items. Prevention: 1. Control the source of infection If pubic lice are found in patients, in addition to timely treatment, the source of infection should be traced, especially their sexual partners, who should be examined and treated. Clothing, bedding, and contaminated items used by the patient should be boiled to kill lice or ironed. If one of a couple is infected with the disease, they will usually infect the other. After becoming ill, both husband and wife will be treated and examined at the same time. It is also necessary to check for the presence of other sexually transmitted diseases so that they can be treated at the same time. 2. Pay attention to personal hygiene When traveling on business, do not use public towels, do not wear other people's underwear, and do not share bedding with others. Pay attention to hygiene and bathe frequently. In daily life, towels, bed sheets, and underwear should be boiled and washed regularly, and then exposed to the sun for sterilization; public items such as toilets and bath towels should be disinfected, and squat toilets should be used as much as possible. |
