What should I pay attention to after removing a mole

Many people feel that moles on their faces or anywhere on their bodies are not good, so they want to remove them. There are many ways to remove moles. The most common ones are electrocautery, freezing, and laser mole removal. Different methods are suitable for different types of moles. However, what everyone should pay attention to is that there are some things that need to be paid attention to after mole removal, such as keeping the mole removal area dry within a week, not getting it wet, and eating a light diet.

Things to note after mole removal:

1. Keep the treated area as dry as possible for one week after removing moles or spots. Dry it gently with a clean towel as soon as possible after washing or contact with water.

2. After treating moles and spots, the treated area should be kept away from sunlight to prevent sunburn and pigmentation. Especially within 20 days after the scabs fall off, special attention should be paid to sun protection.

3. Pay attention to your diet and try to eat less sour and spicy foods, seafood, beef, mutton and other foods. Eat more foods containing vitamin C. You can also supplement vitamin C and vitamin E and take them according to the instructions.

4. Please do not scratch at will to avoid infection, which may lead to scars or pigmentation.

5. After mole removal treatment, a black scab will generally form on the applied area within 1-2 days, and the scab will fall off automatically in about 1-2 weeks. After the scab falls off, it is best if the skin where the scab falls off is white. If it is fresh red skin, the color will sometimes darken due to excessive sunlight exposure, and it will recover after a few months.

Mole removal method

1. Electric burning method

Method: Use the principle of electric high-temperature burning to remove the mole by burning and carbonization.

Advantages: Easy to operate.

Disadvantages: It is difficult to control the degree of burning, it is easy to leave scars, and it is not accepted by people.

Indications: It is effective for superficial combined nevi and deeper and raised compound nevi, and for nevi with a diameter of 0.3-0.5 cm.

2. Freezing method

Method: Use liquid nitrogen to freeze the nevus tissue extremely quickly, causing the cells around the nevus to form blisters and then fall off on their own.

Advantages: The depth of destruction is relatively easy to control, it can usually be done in one go, and it is not easy to cause obvious scars.

Disadvantages: Large and thick moles need to be frozen multiple times to be removed, and special instruments must be used. The doctor's skills are also very important. Because it is difficult to control the depth and often causes damage, dermatology departments do not usually use it to treat moles.

Indications: Flat moles with a diameter of 0.3-0.5 cm, including freckles, etc.

3. Laser mole removal

Method: For shallow moles, laser can be used to remove them, such as ruby laser, erbium laser, etc.; if it is a larger and deeper mole, carbon dioxide ultra-pulse laser should be used to remove it.

Advantages: Laser mole removal can control the size and depth of the optimal light spot, and is less likely to leave scars or become infected.

Disadvantages: No disadvantages, accepted by most people and popular.

Indications: Most moles, including deep and shallow moles, can be treated.
