How to treat left liver cyst?

The liver is a major organ for detoxification. If there is a problem in this part, many parts will be affected, and there will be more or less problems. The surrounding tissues and organs will not be able to work normally, and some toxins accumulated in the body cannot be discharged at all. This will make the patient feel extremely painful, and even have symptoms of liver cysts. In this case, you must go to the hospital for relevant surgical treatment in time. This disease cannot be improved by drug treatment. Basically, if it is detected, it is best to undergo surgery in time, so that there may be no side effects.

Those without obvious symptoms or with impaired liver function do not need treatment. However, if the symptoms are intolerable or have affected liver function, surgical treatment can be performed. Partial cyst wall resection, or "window surgery", is usually performed. For patients with clear cyst fluid and no bile, the superficial cyst wall can be removed while retaining the cyst wall within the liver parenchyma, so that the cyst fluid can be drained into the abdominal cavity and absorbed by the peritoneum. Polycystic liver can also be treated in the same way. If the bile duct is connected to the cyst, efforts should be made to close the bile duct opening in the cyst, and internal drainage can be performed as a last resort. Those with infection can undergo drainage and catheter suction. In recent years, there have been reports of percutaneous puncture to extract the cyst fluid and then inject anhydrous alcohol to eliminate the cyst wall endothelium.

Single or multiple cysts without clinical symptoms should be observed by regular B-ultrasound examination. If the cyst is larger than 5 cm, ultrasound-guided puncture and aspiration of the cyst fluid followed by injection of a sclerosing agent may be considered. Giant or localized cysts with secondary infection often require surgical treatment. The liver area should be protected from external impact to prevent cyst rupture. In life, many people are found to have "liver cysts" during physical examinations or B-ultrasound or CT scans due to abdominal discomfort. People who originally had no symptoms were also shocked when they saw the results, and immediately developed symptoms such as discomfort in the liver area, which they quickly associated with "liver cancer" and they didn't know what to do.

In fact, liver cyst is a common benign liver disease, which can be divided into parasitic, non-parasitic and congenital hereditary. The cause of liver cysts is mostly due to developmental disorders of small intrahepatic bile ducts, and single liver cysts are caused by ectopic bile ducts. Liver cysts grow slowly, so they may be asymptomatic for a long time or for life. Their clinical manifestations also vary with the location, size, number of the cysts, whether they compress adjacent organs, and whether there are complications.

The treatment of liver cysts should be early detection and early treatment, small size, fast treatment effect, no complications, and better treatment. If the diameter is greater than 5 cm and compression symptoms occur, or there is cyst rupture, cyst torsion, intracystic bleeding or huge cyst, surgical treatment is required. Most congenital liver cysts are discovered accidentally and are asymptomatic, so no treatment is required, only regular check-ups are sufficient.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment

Traditional Chinese medicine can treat liver cysts, but the efficacy varies and the medication time is long. When I encounter such patients, I usually take symptomatic treatment to eliminate the symptoms. Because a cyst of 1.0×1.2CM has no obvious effect on the human body, it can be temporarily not treated. Sometimes the side effects of taking Chinese medicine on the human body are even greater than the harm of liver cysts to the human body, so it is recommended not to treat it temporarily.

Liver cysts belong to the category of "syndrome" and "accumulation" in traditional Chinese medicine. The course of the disease is long and is mostly caused by liver depression and qi stagnation, and long-term accumulation of dampness and worms, which lead to qi stagnation and blood stasis. The holistic concept is used as the principle of treatment. According to the pathogenesis of liver cysts, it clears away heat and relieves depression, calms the liver and guides the qi, so that the qi can be regulated and the phlegm will disappear when the qi flows. Selected blood-activating and blood-stasis-removing drugs are used as medicine to expel blood stasis in the body, unclog blood vessels, remove blood stasis and disperse nodules. At the same time, it is supplemented with liver-protecting products to enhance liver immunity and protect against invasion of external pathogens. Holistic diagnosis and treatment, with the right medicine for the right disease, has extremely significant therapeutic effects on liver cysts.
